Hi everyone, I have been super lazy about posting details lately so he is one I finished tonight. It's a 2009 Ram 2500 Diesel that belongs to a friend of mine. He is a heavy machine mechanic and it's his tow rig for his off road buggy. The reason I preface with that is because for this reason perfection, at least on the exterior, was not a priority since he will be driving through the woods in less than a week. So the main focus was getting the interior cleaned up since it was still in pretty good shape, and doing what I could for the exterior without breaking the bank. On to the detail Products and Procedure Wheels Cleaned with Sonax (twice), than polished by hand with Collinite Metal Wax Tires and wheel wells cleaned with ZEP Citrus 4:1 (thanks richy!!!) Tires dressed with some greasy sh*t the customer provided Wheel wells dressed with Adams Undercarriage Spray Exterior Washed with DP Xtreme Foam, heavy deposits sprayed with ZEP Citrus Clayed with Ubar clay w/ ONR as lube Paint prepped with Prima Amigo on a Cyan pad on PC Paint Protected with Prima Banana Gloss (easiest to use LSP ever) Glass cleaned with Megs glass cleaner Exterior trim dressed with 303 Aerospace and Adams In and Out Spray Billet grill and emblems polished and protected with Collinite Metal Wax Interior vacuumed thoroughly Floor mats cleaned with ZEP citrus then hot water extracted Dash and door cards cleaned with ZEP citrus then dressed with Prima Nero Leather Seats cleaned with Zaino/ZEP Citrus, then dressed with Zaino leather conditioner This is how it was dropped off to me. Not in too terrible shape from first glance, but this color hides dirt and imperfections well. Believe me when I say this truck was filthy, especial below the body moldings. Wheels before. These were FILTHY! I used two applications of Sonax and still resorted to polishing them by hand with Collinite Metal polish to remove all the staining. On the bright side though it left a nice protective layer behind. Here was the only thing on the exterior he wanted to address. Apparently a trailer went crazy at his last even and got dropped on his tailgate. He is lucky this is all the damage that was done. The small scratch in the middle is way too deep to do anything about, he only wanted to try and correct the scuffs at the top. Exterior Afters Wheels clean and sealed, tires cleaned and dressed Scuffs corrected Truck cleaned and very glossy. I love Amigo! Now onto the interior Overall it was very dusty and full of small rocks, leaves, and dirt. Also he had stepped in some grease somewher and gotten it all over his floormat as well as smeared it on the door. See grease :rock: He was also very worried about the leather seats and steering wheel since they were getting really dirty. Here are some 50/50 of the seats and wheel Floor mats got some serious attention. Nasty befores. Much cleaner afters Exteior Afters Thanks for looking! :dance:

Thanks, yeah I found that sticker under one of the seats. You should have seen the smile on his face when he pulled up because I put it on his rear bumper. :giggle: Yeah we should, maybe after this crazy holiday season! :thumb:
Mate that is some fantastic work. I own one of these (it's a 2004) so I know how big they are and how much time goes into keeping these clean. What did you use to clean the steering wheel?
Thanks! I used ZEP Citrus on the steering wheel and leather seats diluted 20:1. I did a test spot and didn't use too much pressure for fear of removing dye.
That is my exact fear when it comes to steering wheels. I messed up back in the days on the steering wheel of our Explorer, it ruined it. Hard lesson to learn. Now I just use hot water and an MF and carefully clean that way. No chemicals...
That funny, because I messed up a small section of the leather seat on my old explorer years ago by getting too aggressive. Now I do a test sport and start with the least aggressive method, that gets results. Originally on this vehicle I started with Megs APC+ 20:1 and it didn't really do much. So I did a test spot with the ZEP on the underside, back of the steering wheel and it looked good. It's still a risk I suppose...
I use Megs APC 10:1 or 4:1 for really nasty leather. I've seen no ill effects on it so far, but it works great for getting the leather clean again! But a question on steering wheels. How do you get it clean? By that I mean...do you scrub at it with a microfiber towel? With a brush? I can never get steering wheels as clean as I want them to be. Looks great :applause2: Clark
Nice job on the truck. Tell your friend to get some rubber weathertech mats for thàt thing for gods sake, lol. Those carpet mats will be ruined in no time with his job and hobbies from the sounds of it.
Thanks! I fancy this truck myself, but would only buy one if somene else would pay the fuel bill. Lol Thanks for the tip. I use a mf towel on the steering wheel and seats. I prefer a wafle weave of some sort since it seems to add that extra bite to pull all the dirt out. Thanks! Thanks.
