Was just at the dealership tonight walking around and looking at these....maybe in a few years. Looks great, way to turn that black paint into a mirror!
amazing turnaround, P1et! It came out gordeous! By the way, am I the only one that start Flex and polishes through out the detail on speed 6? I think kit's only 480 RPM at that speed...my Makita is giving me 1500 RPM at speed 3, but it is a whole different game... Once again, two thumbs up!!!
WOW. Sweet car. Love the lines. Really really diggin those wheels!!!!!!!!!! Looks great P1et!!!!!!!!!
P1et..Fantastic job on the Z!! The one pic of the reflection of what's in the garage looks 3D. The lines on the car are gorgeous...you did it proud!:applause:
I love reading the writeups just as much as I love looking at the pictures. For me not being a professional detailer, I have learned so much by reading what products, pads, tools etc are going into the job. My mouth was watering as I was looking at the end result of this job. Great photos!!!
Nice write-up, and you did a great job. But you have no clue as to whether those scratches were caused by the water blade or not. They could have been caused by improper wash technique or because the vehicle was taken to an automatic car wash place. I'm sorry but I've been using a California Water Blade for years and I've never seen it to cause a single scratch on my paint.
Thank you everyone for the comments, much appreciated! I'm using the 6.5" Uber pads... Thank you! I normally start the Flex on 4 and see the correction. In this case, bumping it up to 5 gave me the correction to get it perfect. Speed 6 would have probably done it faster, but then again, I don't have a PTG! Although I respect your opinion, you'll be hard pressed to find someone on here that will agree on how the Water Blade does not scratch paint. You could look at the bonnet of the vehicle and see that all the scratches were pointing straight downwards, from dragging the Water Blade in that direction. The vehicle was barely two months old, and only washed by the customer. Insignis next??? :thumb:
Then in that case, I take it back, it probably is from the Blade. That's a Cali Jelly Blade anyways...very crappy version of the original Cali Water Blade.
Neither do I...Not yet, that is. I'm defenetely investing in one, something around $250, like Highline Meter. I really wanna master my rotary, as I've noticed that wax is only a wax, even if it is Vintage, and proper prep of the paintwork is what makes 90%-95% difference.
