This is a friend’s GTI, cool silver color, hadn’t been washed since last summer if he had to guess. Car lives it’s life in the city so no real sand blasting… Car wasn’t in terrible shape but had some rough spots.

I agree. Great car. I see one in my future. Incredibly well designed small car with plenty of zip and room for stuff.
    Thanks for sharing!

Wow night and day difference!!! That gloss and depth of the paint on your after pictures are amazing!!! Great turnaround!

Very tidy looking. Nice job. Bit of a holiday compared to the Infiniti, eh?

Thanks for the feedback guys, it was a fun car, LOADS easier the the Infinti FX I did the day before :) Owner and another detailing friend help do this car. I think with the 3 of us it was clay bar'd in 20mins  .

I really like the color, looks flat is some light, but in others it has a hint of pearl it seems. Paint wasn't in terrible shape but after the first pass with 203 it glossed right up and you could see how flat looking it was to start.

My wife even commented that she liked it when she popped her head out to see what we where up too. So may be one in my future too...

The dog's name is Nate. He is about 22 weeks old and 36lbs. That's him being calm :) He is getting better he has learned very quickly not to jump on cars, now just got to work on people! Thankfully the only cars he has jumped on have been my own, the last time you could see it in his face that he knew he screwed up

    Very cute!

You need to teach him how to detail. My dog, Crystal, has already been to Detailers Domain. :applause2:

He's got you fooled :p: , Nah he's a good pup. He has already tried to help wash the cars but he doesn't have the bucket method down yet where he doesn't scratch the car

He starts puppy school next week, once that is done I will feel better about taking him to more social events with people, right now he gets to excited and tries to mouth people. Getting better but not where he needs to be to go out with larger groups.

Dragging up an old one but I think it is worth it.

All to often we write threads showing the results of hard work only to never see the thread again or an update on how the finish is holding up. Well I have an opportunity to do just that, provide an update on this particular car. The owner is getting ready to return the car at the end of his lease and wanted to give my friend and I the opportunity to take a look at the car to see how the finish has held up.

The owner has not washed it ONCE since we did the detail in late June, relying solely on mother nature (hey it's a lease!)... New England winter is in full effect, it is his DD, and he lives in the city so it is not a garage queen and certainly sees it's share for snow, salt, and environmental fall out.. He has taken it on a few road trips up to Montreal and various ski resorts.

Well he asked us to take a look at the finish because it is almost as good as it was back in June. He reports the beading is still present and going strong after, well 7 months today!

We are making arrangements to have him swing by for a more extensive wash and some more photos but he sent me this image early today. He took it last night when he got out of work. Beads may not be small and tight but it is still beading very well and more so for an uncared for finish. My friend are quite please with this finish combo and will certainly be using it more often when we start up again in a few months.:applause2:

We will be getting more images next month but as a teaser...

    Finish
Menzerna Powerlock topped with AutoGlym HD... AFTER 7 UNCARED FOR MONTHS!!! :thumb:
