I always say there is not better way to prove your correction work that direct sun shots, excellent work Carlos!
Thank you guys for the all the kind comments...boy you guys make it hard to keep up, I was going to be polite and reply to each one of you who posted here but three pages :gasp: of replies that's allot of replies but I appreciate every single one :hippie: My friend was amazed at the difference made to the appearance of the vehicle. The clear coat was quite tough, but I'm surprised how the Menzerna pads made quick work of the deep scratches, I'm glad I found my stash of Menzerna pads...again. The Fast Cut Plus has quite a bit more bite then Power Gloss, I found that a bit surprising as well. This vehicle was quite the experience, I thought I was going to be in for a rough detail but turns out with the right combo the clear coat gave in just like butter on toast :thumb: I took so many pictures during and afters the detail that my hand was hurting from copying and pasting the links from my photobucket account :shakehead: Any who thank you all for the kind words and glad you guys enjoyed the detail eace:
 I agree, my friend was a true trooper, he stuck around for the entire thing, he saw the transformation first hand. I gave him the Sun Gun to inspect every panel I was polishing, I had to charge that thing about 3 times in one day...I don't think my Sun Gun has ever been used that much in one day :shead: but I wanted my friend to see and experience detailing from all aspects. He's very happy with his purchase and he's very committed to take good care of this vehicle, he asked me for a list of items I would use to maintain the vehicle, well that list is now with Chris :thumb: Like I said he's very committed to take care of his vehicles. So yes props to my friend. :lol2: yes that's one way of putting it my friend
How in the world did I miss this one yesterday. Fine fine fine job Carlos. You made the Vette clear just beg for mercy didn't you. The car does look sweet wearing Vintage. Oh and your friend did a bang up job on the exhaust. I bet when he shows off the car he always mentions that "he" did the exhaust!
Glad you enjoyed it JL eace: Vintage added that little extra to the vehicle, but I've been wondering what Crystal Rock would have done to it..the vehicle has lots of flakes and Vintage muted them a bit, Crystal Rock would have made the flakes pop like crazy...well I'm sure I'll be finding out soon enough next time he bring it over :thumb: My friend did the exhaust's and the rims, he used Autosol on the rims and removed some stubborn water spots. My friend is very happy and proud of his new vehicle and I don't blame him :headbang:
Very impressive. The vintage really demonstrates a great reflective range! The more pics the merrier!
Fantastic work, very enjoyable write up and excellent finished shots :thumb: I was wondering what applicator pad you were using to apply the Vintage with? I think it’s great thanks to forums like this where the best products are discussed, that a lot of detailers here and in UK are now using similar products and techniques and achieving amazing results! We’ll have to start swapping products, I’ll send out some 3m UK pads and Autosol, for some Riccardo clay :thumb: Regards, Roy.
Thank you for the feed back and I'm glad you enjoyed it eace: Thank you, glad you enjoyed the lengthy write up and pictures. It's hard to capture the effect of Vintage on pictures but it's truly impressive and I would have to agree, can't never have enough pictures :thumb: Thank you for the feed back eace: Glad you enjoyed the write up, in all honesty I adopted the write up technique from a few UK detailers :thumb: You UK folks take detailing to a whole different level :worship2: I'm just trying to keep up with them  As for the applicator, it's just one of those yellow foam applicators, nothing fancy about it to be honest just a regular yellow applicator. Forums, have become extremely useful now a days, knowledge at one point was hoarded and protected the new era seems that to want to share knowledge...but you have to be careful what you consider 'knowledge' and what is nothing more then BS, one of the draw backs of public forums. But I agree, it's always good to learn something new, there's more then one way to detail and the more you learn the better detailer you become. As for swapping products, sounds good to me :thumb:
Great work Carlos. I love the glow coming off the vette. Thanks for the pictures, it really helps when it comes to painting a picture of someones hardwork. When you wet sanded what size compressor did you end up going with and did you use the 3 inch mirka abralons?
Glad you enjoyed it, as for the wet sanding, I did it by hand. Regrettably I don't have a big enough air compressor in my garage to power up my sanders. I need to finish my floor first and then I'll be able to finish up my garage, get the rest of the toys in :thumb:
