Incredible work as usual Nica! I do love to see your write ups. Glad to see you pull out the Glasur again. I think it is a very underrated wax in the Zymol lineup. I used it on a white Mustang myself and it came out just blingin'. Oh and really really really glad to see one of your famous interiors again! Like richy said you know you did a great job when the owner whips out a camera and starts taking pics!!
Thank you JL and I agree Glasur is a great wax, glad I used it as well as it left the vehicle with a great glow :thumb: I thought it was neat that the owner was taking pictures :thumb: You know what pirex, no I didn't put any kind of proection on the soft top...hmm...I can't remember if I have any in my arsenal :shead: :shead:
Thanks eace: no I actually did this vehicle last weekend (September 5, 6 and 7) but I haven't had too much time that week so I got it done this weekend, the write up that is...I thought of you when I detailed this one
I believe it was fabric, raggtop huh...mmm.. I agree time to do some shopping again...but first I need to finish my garage...lighting system is being done hopefully just a few more weeks now  So pirex have you used raggtop? What do you guys recommend for convertibles with soft top?
I bought their convertible kit and it was a bottle of the convertible top cleaner and a bottle of the 303 protectant. Its all I use for all the convertible tops I do.
Yes, I saw that Chris has it that's why I'm surprised I don't have it..I prity much have just about everything that Chris caries :shead: time to start ordering again..well once I get the garage done though it's coming along nicely though, electrical and stereo system was completed today..well the pre-wiring that is :cheerl:
As far as vinyl tops go, 303 is excellent. What kind of lights are you putting up? In my last shop, I installed 8' (two 4's bolted together)T8 flourescents. They are 30% brighter than standard T12s, use 30% less power and have electronic ballasts-very light and last a long time. My bay was 30'x16' and I had 16- 8' flourescents. Nice and bright. Have a look at Rich's bay at Polished Bliss. I would mount yours the same in your garage. Also, when you wire your wall plugs, put each outlet on a seperate breaker. Then you can plug in whatever you want wherever you want without blowing a circuit. You could also mount FRP panels on your walls and then you would be able to wash inside!
Well the wiring was completed today, so the roof is going to have a total of 20 4feet high output T5's much brighter then the T8. One of the walls (East wall) will have a total of 16 high output T5's as well but I'm trying to look for something that will be recess into the wall, so I might change the T5's to some kind of pot light but I need a pot light that will have the same out put as the T5's. So I've given my friend who's getting me the lighting system something to do :thumb: I'd love to have some pot lights recess on the East wall, it would look much better then the T5's..just personal preference that's all. Oh I've also had two plugs dedicated for 20amps, some tools require 20ams and last thing I want to do is trip the breakers. I've also made other previsions...but I wont mention them untill I have them all done :shh: Oh and cant forget forget the stereo system and CAT5E of course all pre-wired and completed today, took a few days but it's all coming together..next up is drywall..I'm not looking forward to the drywall :shakehead: :shakehead: This garage is taking longer then I thought oh but I've been documenting, via pictures, the different stages completed :thumb: when it's fully done I'll post all the pictures up
You're putting T5s in your garage? I love you! I was going to put those in my shop, until I got the price. That was 3 years ago and they were brand new. VERY pricey. If you don't mind me asking, whats a 4' T5 cost these days? I'm going to look at a new shop for myself tomorrow. Maybe I'll put those up. Your garage is going to be sooooooo cool!!
 T5's all the way, hands down one of the best lights available at the moment and quite efficient too. As to the price, to be honest I'm not sure as I'm wont be paying retail price, the friend I speak off owns a lighting business so I'll be getting the lighting at a very low price...lets just say I'm calling in some favors some of my friends owed me  I know this though that just in fixtures it would be somewhere in the range of $500 to $600, that's just the sealing of my garage and I don't think those prices include the bulbs. How many did you need, I might be able to get some extras..but I'm not exactly sure how much they will be..but I'm sure I will find out shortly, I can let you know when I find out if you'd like. Like I said I have big plans for this garage, slowly but surely it's coming along, it's just taking a bit of more time then I anticipated  besides this garage will be the homes to my future toy car(s) so it has to be done right :thumb:
