zep purple on wheels??

i'm going to be doing my dad a favor and detailing his lexus this weekend. the wheels are chromed. the tires are a mess so i'm going ot use zep purple 4:1 to clean them. is there any issue with getting some of the purple on the chrome? just checking...

 

I would think you would be pretty good. Quality chrome is usually very good and stout. I would just keep the wheels wet with water, while you scrub the tires and just make sure you rinse well.
