Zep makes a few Citrus cleaners....some very strong and not paint safe....we use one at the shop its Zeps Knock Out..I believe it comes from Canada..its a gel form...sorta like p21s...its paint safe...and cleans good...its clingy....

as far as the citrus APC's...they have a few...and some very strong and not paint safe...

Now they make a Green version..by green its enviormentaly safe and surface friendly...you may have to order it...but read the bottles..

Sounds like Zep makes some good stuff that could be picked up locally.

Jason picked one up from HD and after reading it ..itstated not for carpets and paint..so as I said they have a few Citrus products and not all are available from HD...read the label first...some are super strong stuff....

I like thier carpet cleaning stuff....not bad for the price..good for mild to medium dirty stuff..but after that you need some pro stuff....

I've used the Zep Cleaner and Degreaser @ 1:1 for engines, wheel wells for a year. It won't harm aluminum like some others. I just read on my gallon bottle that it is OK on painted surfaces @ 20:1 but haven't tried it.

Hey Jimmie, my bottle says it's safe for painted surfaces at 20:1 BUT then whan you read through the label it says "not recomended for auto paint"... When @ HD I only read the part where it said "safe for painted surfaces" so I snatched it up.

Here is a picture of what I got, is it the same as yours? Keeo in mind it said "not recomended for auto paint" BUT after that it said "If using on a surface that is not recomended try in an inconspicous test area".

So is this the stuff you have? How does is do on wells?

Yup, I didn't read that part of the label until I got it home..

I am looking for a citrus type degreaser to put in a gallon pump sprayer to use as a pre wash treatment on lower panels and wheels

    A cheaper P21S T.A.W. right?

You ever tried Duragloss Ultimate Orange? It says not to use on paint unless diluted, would this make you shy away from it? It cleaned some dirt wheel wells real good for me at 10:1, and soon im gonna try it on wheels, mixing it with some soap and using a foamer like I believe AL53 suggested.

    Yup, that's my goal...

I have yet to try DG UO... If it says it can be used on paint *if* diluted I am good with that and would just follow the dilution ratio.

The more I think about it I bet CG CWG at a string ratio would be PERFECT for this...hmmmmm

Yeah Motor City, that's the same one I use. I apologize I didn't read the auto paint part. I keep buying it for engines and wells. I put it in a pressurized bottle (pump on top) at 1:1.

See neither did I , I just read 20:1 for painted surfaces so I just stopped reading and assumed it was all good for exterior auto paint.....

So how do you use it on engines.. just spray on, let dwel, scrub and rinse?

Exactly how I use it. Works really well. Rarely do I have to repeat spray. In fact not too much scrubbing needed.

How about Simple Green Pro HD? Sounds like it will do what you are looking for, and is safe for automotive paint and aluminum.

I've been wanting to pick some up from Home Depot on my next trip there. I'm almost positive I saw it there.
