I feel like I have no choice here guys... I've tried Z-8 (just to dip my toe in the water) and it looks incredible :righton:

I'm about one beer away from pulling the trigger on some Z-2 pro & Z-6, and maybe some ZFX and Z-5 pro. :drinking2:

How necessary is this ZFX stuff? Do I absolutely have to use it?

I'd appreciate some opinions on the Z-5 also... Do I need this to see the full effect?

What about Z-AIO? Should I be thinking about this too???

If it helps, I'll be using it on a dark metallic red 2008 Santa Fe Ltd.

You don't have to have it, it depends on if you want to use more than one coat (many Zaino users like to) and if you want to avoid the 12 hour waiting period to apply a new coat that ZFX allows you to avoid.

On a dark metallic Red Santa Fe I almost wonder if Z-5 should be used rather than Z-2? Z-5 is generally advertised a being used on darker colored cars and Z-2 on lighter colored cars. Some people swear by Z-AIO others say if you prep the paint well enough you don't need it, I have never used Z-AIO so I don't know the answer to that question.

Go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

You do not need ZFX if you use Z-AIO first as your base coat and you do not plan on layering the Z5p or Z2p on the same day.

The Z5p/Z8 combo is unbelievable, you will be even more amazed.

I like Z6 to prep the finish for Z5p after I wash it. Then I will apply a coat of Z5p and follow up with Z8 and the car always looks amazing.

Wow, you are really getting serious Kenny1775. It sounds like you knew what you were talking about the whole time. Or was it the :drinking2: Good thing these guys chimmed in because I'm 1 :drinking2: past knowing everything there is to know about everything.:loud:

Z8 is incredible there is nothing like it.
After Z5 pro I use ZCS then Z8.

To me Z5 pro is a very underated product. I find the looks to be fantastic and to some degree with muliple applications in can hide some inperfections. You already know the durability can't be beat.

I alway use ZFX when using either Z2 pro or Z5 pro. Do you absolutely need it maybe not. But I feel they cure better and durability and looks are enhanced with ZFX. For $20 you can't go wrong.

I would get Z5pro, ZFX and ZCS since you already have Z8. Also I love ZPC polish.

I have ZAIO and Z2PRO (after polishing, no ZFX w/the Z2) on a black Bimmer X3 right now, at a little over one month and three washings the beading is still very intense (on par with or better than Collinite) and it looks great. I know it hasn't been on for long, I'll really be interested to see it at 3+ months.

I've used the same combo on an X5 and did not get results that were as nice, however, my prep was different on that (106ff on X5, OP and FPII on the X3 with an IPA wipe after polishing and before ZAIO). I'm guessing maybe the 106 polishing oils interfered with bonding.

As far as the ZFX goes I would say its one of Zainos plus points of being able to get 3 good coats of say Z2 on in the same day.

Thanks for all the input guys, I can feel myself being warmly welcomed into the cult of Zaino :support:

If my ability to read between the lines is working, I sense that Z-5 may be worth trying by itself before buying Z-2. The ZFX would be nice if I want to kill a Sunday with a marathon "layering party", but the AIO would be a good multi-function alternative. The Z-6 is essential, so I will definitely be getting that (I'm addicted to qd's, this will be my 14th).

ok, so now I'm looking at Z-5, ZAIO & Z-6.

I've heard that Z-5 isn't really that much of a swirl hider (I welcome and request any objections to this statement that are based on experience). Is the AIO any better at filling/removing minor swirling, or should I be considering the ZPC also?

Do you own a random orbital or a rotary? If so, I would recommend compounding those swirls out and then polishing the compounding haze before going with Z-AIO and Z5.

As far as hiding paint marring, Z-5 does it to a limited degree. I am told it takes about 3 layers before you notice a difference, hence the benefit of ZFX.

You don't need the ZFX. Just use ZAIO and get after it! Zaino is so durable that you don't need 545,495 layers per day. Just do two layers and you're in great shape!

Thanks Bent, I'll be busting out the Makita for a little paint prep before I go to town on the Santa'. :buffing:

This is a daily driver that lives outside though, so I can't compound the paint every time a swirl shows up. I need a good filler to keep my sanity/clear coat... know what I mean?

You would be surprised how good washing techniques can greatly minimize the occurence of swirl marks.

Minimize, true.. but they keep coming back like Rocky sequels :yikes:

I use the two bucket method religiously, and believe me when I say this car is as babied as I can possibly keep it.. I can't even begin to list how careful I am, and I've got some serious OCD when it comes to car care :eyebrow:

They keep coming back, but I'm going to take them down :tlaw:

I have read on forms that some people were not able to get ride of marring untill breaking down and buying a foam gun. I have been temped to buy a gilmour but I don't think I need it just now.

Something I do while doing a two bucket wash that seems to help in preventing marring is after I finish washing a small section such as the driver's side of the roof, before putting my microfiber covered foam sponge back into the rinse bucket, I wring it out really well either letting the dirty water hit the ground or in an empty bucket. By doing so, as the wash water is being wrung out, it releases a large portion of the dirt and particles that I picked up from the dirty paint. That way, that dirt and particles never make it into my rinse bucket and my rinse bucket stays much, much cleaner.

I still rub my MF covered foam sponge along the grit guard at the bottom of the rinse bucket to get even more dirt and particles off the wash media but the fact that a large portion of that stuff has already been removed and the fact that the rinse water is much cleaner throughout the wash means less stuff will inevitably gets into the wash bucket.

When I am finished washing my car, my rinse bucket is barely cloudy. I have to believe by keeping my wash media, rinse bucket and wash bucket all so much cleaner, that is helping me in reducing marring. Because keep in mind, 90% of marring is due to rubbing debris along your paint. The better job I do to keep from reintroducing that marring onto my paint, the less marring.

I guess if I really want to get crazy, I could go to a no touch wash like SuperBee has gone to. He uses a pressure washer, a foam cannon and a water deionizing system and never touches his car.

I don't think much of Z6 or the polishes but have not tried Z8

on their website many weeks of protection was the claim
Well thats not the longest lasting spray stuff
though it's possible that it may give the best shine and might match aussie gold showroom sealer spray glaze for looks

Will let you all know my thoughts on this

Zaino ain't the longest lasting sealant but its close and does give a special look

Yes... it's that "Special" look that I'm really looking for :detective:

Many have debated between carnubas and sealants as to which have the better look :eek:ngard: as for myself, I'd like to make the paint look like its coated in crystal clear glass :awesome:

Which are some sealants you feel give better durability than Zaino.

    Update:

    Just pulled the trigger on some Z-2, Z-5, Z-6 & ZAIO :ar15:

If I keep buying products at this rate, pretty soon I'm going to have to change my name to Nica :dbanana:

P.S. Just kidding Carlos.. you're my hero when it comes to product collections :worship2: :righton: :pimp:
