First let me say that in no way shape or form, am I promoting this product for Meguiar's. That being said, here's the product: I purchased the D151, Paint Reconditioning Cream and received it today. This is a new product from Meguiar's and from what I understand, the production will be limited at first. This was just released. Here is a fast description of it taken from a web site: Meguiar's Paint Reconditioning Cream Features: True scratch & defect removal with durable protection. Cut, Polish, and Protect with one fast liquid. Advanced Unigrit technology delivers level cutting and easy polishing. Easy on, easy off. Application: Hand, DA Polisher, Rotary Buffer. Shake well. Work one section at a time. Always work on cool paint surface. Directions Step 1: Machine Application Rotary Buffer: Choose appropriate Meguiar’s buffing pad. Set machine to 1400-2000rpms. Apply P.R.C. directly to surface. D.A. Polisher: Choose appropriate Meguiar’s buffing pad. Set machine at medium speed setting of 3-4. Begin working P.R.C. in a 2’x2’ area with overlapping passes. Continue working until defects are removed and high gloss is achieved. Wipe residue with Meguiar’s Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloth. Hand Application: Apply a thin even coat of product to the surface with a clean applicator pad. Wipe residue with Meguiar’s Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloth Step 2 (Optional) For additional clarity, gloss, and protection re-apply P.R.C. with the appropriate Meguiar’s foam finishing pad or applicator pad Pro Tips: If necessary, prepare surface by properly washing and claying to remove loose and bonded contaminants. Here are my thoughts on this product: Use this after a product like Meguiar's M-105 Ultra-Cut Compound or Meguiar's #95 Speed Cut Compound. I think between the 2, one can accomplish a quick polish and wax for those customers who want a good look but not pay for a total, detailed paint correction and for those who want a "BETTER value", D151 by itself. I really think that this product may have a beneficial place in the detailing business. Here's what I am willing to do: Keep in mind, that I have NOT used this product yet, so I can NOT promise that this product will work as it's advertised to do. I will have 6, approx. 8oz. samples to trade out. This should be way more than you need to polish out 1 vehicle. These will be in dispenser bottles. I will probably send the samples out via USPS with the cheapest rates I can get. I am asking everyone who gets the samples to do a few things. #1. Use the product when you get it. If you are going to "use it sometime", please don't request a sample. I am trying to get "honest" feedback on this product other than that of my own. Post you thoughts on this. #2. Post pics if you can with whatever process you have used. Paint correction prior to using this product or just the product by itself. Also, please post the type of polisher used with the product. #3. In return, thus the trade, please send me back a 4-8 oz. sample of your favorite detailing product. Just please, don't send crap! #4. Please, please, above all be patient. I work some really weird hours and the are not always conducive to getting to the nearest post office. #5. Post your request in this thread with the sample #. ie: If you are the first to post your # would be 1, etc. until all are spoken for. Once again, 6 samples available. Then, PM me with your mailing information. ***Nica: A special note to you. I have tried to keep this within the guidelines of the forum. Although a strange "Trade", please by all means if this post does not abide by the guidelines or rules of Detailing Bliss, please feel free to lock and delete this post at your will.*** One last word, I need to get some sleep now as I have to be at work at 5:30 AM. I will check this post again when I get up and then again after work. So, if there is no response from me, that is why!
Just a little update that I'm sure that you have been waiting for. The samples are now packaged and ready to send out on Monday. I'm sorry for the delay on this. Someone unexpectedly quit at work and I have been working split shifts every day. I sleep in 4 hour shifts as well so it's been another week from hell. I worked on this for about 2 hours this morning. LOL. This stuff has the consistency of a thick hand cream. It took FOREVER to get the 2 bottles filled. I wanted to get this out before work today but time just ran out of time. I appreciate your patience on this and you will get it soon.
