Hey all, just thought I'd share a few pics of my 2002 M3 after I cleaned it up this past weekend. This was my first experience with Hard Body. This is just for fun. Pics just snapped with my iPhone. Hope you enjoy! Car has almost 151k miles
Close to 151K miles? Am I reading that correctly? WOW. Any paintwork done on it so far? How bad is the upkeep on an M3 with that many miles?
P1et, yes, I've had some paint work done. When I bought it in 2006, it had front end blemishes common from highway use. I had the front bumper and hood replaced completely and blended the fenders. Replaced rear bumper too as it was cracked. The body shop that did the work is actually really good, they are a multi million dollar facility with state of the art booths. They do a lot of work for the BMW factory here in Spartanburg, SC, so they have OEM quality control, so far no one not even I can tell a difference between original and repainted panels...great texture matching and they use the same paint and clear as the factory. Thanks for all compliments!
Nice M dude. Very nice. I love hardbody, ive had it on my mach 1 since august of last year. Im about to conduct a test with it on my Daily driver to see how durable it is when its outside 24/7
Oh and the mechanical upkeep...lol to be honest man I lack in being OCD about that side of things. I do oil changes with TWS about 6,000 mile cycles and fix anything that arises ASAP via SES light etc...other than that the car has really been good overall runs nicely daily driven and I can count on one hand how many things have broken over 7 years KNOCKS ON WOOD!!
Stunning E46 M3! One of my favorite cars.......glad to see one being well maintained still with 151k on the clock.
Lucky man! The car looks incredible even without factoring in age and mileage. I have a sentimental attachment to the I6 BMWs, the E46 M3 and the Z4 M especially.
Mind sharing with us what the name of the bodyshop is? That's amazing how you can have an essentially OEM BMW bodyshop so close to where you live. It's like getting bodywork done at the damn factory itself!
That's awesome that you have a shop near you that uses Colorsystem! The color match and peel match abilities of the system are great! The roughest part of working with it are how it dries.
Carbonschwartz is just an amazing color, when properly polished/maintained. The e46 M3 is the ultimate M3. The next is getting a turbo - what's wrong with this world? Kind regards, Ebbe
