This clients Subaru sees me about every three weeks or so for a wash & vac and Menz High Gloss Acrylic Shield top up. Its been two full months since I've seen this and it was washed once at the dealership! Engine cleaned with AG Powermax3 and sprayed down with AG Vinyl & Rubber Care and left to dry All jambs cleaned with AG Powermax3 and AG Intensive Tar Remover to shift the grease on the hinges Foamed with Poorboys Super Slick & Suds and left for 5 minutes Washed with the same Inner fenders and tires were cleaned with AG Powermax3 while the wheels got a mild acid to clean a bit of a buildup on the back of the spokes. Paint was still very smooth to the touch so claying was not necessary. LSP today was Menz FMJ x2 Interior was vacuumed, wiped down with AG Interior Shampoo and Glass cleaned with AG Fast Glass Tires were dressed with Blue Dew Tire DressingThis clients Subaru sees me about every three weeks or so for a wash & vac and Menz High Gloss Acrylic Shield top up. Its been two full months since I've seen this and it was washed once at the dealership! Total time - 4 hours This is what I started with. I love my job !( most days) The only real dirt on the car was on each hinge where an over zealous mechanic had loaded up each hinge with grease Yep. Every hinge! A little dirt had accumulated in the barrels Client had never wanted the engine done. I couldn't take it anymore! Keeping in mind these are the befores I thought I'd switch things up and add a few videos to this write up. This first video is for all you foam whores. You know who you are!! For al who still don't think that FMJ has any durability, this car got two coats 6 months ago and has been topped up with HGAS once a month since. You'll notice in the next couple of pics that the foam can't stick to the car and is actually "sheeting" off. Even after 6 months and a severe foaming, FMJ lives on! Where'd the water go? Engine after Reflection in hood after 2 coats of FMJ Reflection of clouds in hood All the jambs got FMJ as well As did the inside of the fuel filler door Not bad for a 6 year old car with 90,000 kms on it. Thanks for looking.
dude i gotta get my hands on that blue dew... send me the contact info again!!! nice detail... i've never used FMJ, so i can't agure with you whether it has durability or not
A better start than the Freightliner :giggle: What kind of dressing is the blue dew......aerosol, cream, spray?
Car looks great with the FMG, I need to pick up some of that stuff in the future. Also I am interested about the dressing you used also, please let us all know.:headbang:
I'll send some with the AG stuff:thumb: With FMJ, its imperative that you use the Menz High Gloss Acylic Shield at least once a month to maintain the protection and it should last minimum 4 months. Blue dew is a spray. I am looking into it but as DusttoGlory can attest to, they are hard to deal with. I will keep you informed.
Beautiful work! I really like the look that FMJ gives! by the way, what's the average durability you have seen from it???
If you use the Menz HGAS as a maintainance product, there is no reason you don't get 3-4 months. This car got two coats 6 full months ago. Its garaged at night but driven daily.
Great detail. that really did come out beautiful. I think I'm up for some FMJ as well...Unbelievable shine...:thumb:
Great job as always 911. Makes it nice when you get to keep the car looking like it should and makes you enjoy seeing it each time you detail it I'm sure. I have never used FMJ but heard a lot of the pundits claim it has no durability, glad to see someone use actual results to show its durability, thanks for that! Now, the name is JL and yes I'm a foam whore!:sorry:
