My first boat detail, and it was boring as hell! Products: Makita Rotary Menzerna SIP Menzerna Powergloss Compound 3m Fast Cut Plus Mirka Wool pads Sonus SFX-1 pads Mirka p2000 ONR as lube Brinkmann Jotun Easywax (customer request) The boat: 50/50: Holograms from previous polishing (Not by me! ) The worst areas: Pre soaked the paper 30 minutes using water and Optimum Car Wash: Time to start sanding.. After pgc + wool, and sip + sonus sfx-1 LSP (contains ptfe and wax): Boat finished: Thanks for looking
:what: :what: sweet mother that thing is huge wow that's a great detail very nice turn around :applause: Question, where did you get that light? I've been looking for one just like that but I haven't had much luck Thank you for sharing with us eace:
Very nice work !!! I detail a few off shore performance boats, and to be honest I'd rather detail 1 or 2 high end cars in a day. So much buffing, and I really hate detailing the bilge !!! Once again NICE WORK !!!
Thanks Thanks Yep, it's huge! Used about 15 hours on the whole job. The owner of the boat got me the light, he bought it in a norwegian shop called "Byggtorget". Why do you want only 1 halogen? Thanks Saw the previous boat job you did, the one with the paintbrush paint.. Awesome work! I'd also much rather detail cars than boats, it's quite boring! Sanded the worst areas because of the deep scratches.. It required 4 passes with wool + fast cut plus, and 2 passes with powergloss compound + wool to remove the sanding marks. Cant imagine how many passes it would take to remove the scratches without sanding them! Gelcoat is hard stuff!
Norway you say..mmm...  well I have lots of 1000W dual head lights and they can be quite bulky at times, they work great and I prefer using the dual head lights to be honest but when space is tight the single head light is much better to use. Maybe I can get pirex to hook me up with one of these bad boys..man it's wicked having friends all over the world :cheerl:
Hehe, pirex is the man! I'll sure he will fix it for you Saw your video btw. Loved it, great work! Haven't seen that "shaking" method you did remove scratches more efficient.. Will try it on the next detail
