Hey guys I have a buyer for my Mustang GT which I might sell to. I have had my eye on a Mach 1 Mustang that is in mint condition that is nicely modded and only has 28K on the ODO o it. But the problem is its located in Sayre Pennsylvania and I live in El Paso Texas which is 2,100 miles away from each other. I wanted to see what vehicle transport company you guys have used and trusted with your vehicles. I am worried that since its in such mint condition that the driver from the transport company might scratch the wheels when strapping it down if they tie it down that way or scratch or dent the paint. I am also worried that a vehicle that might happen to be on top of mine might possibly leak oil on it.

I am sure I am not being over the top here since we all are detailers and we tend like our vehicles to be kept in the best possible condition. Also I need one that is not too pricey. I am hoping to pay $1000 or less to do this if not I might just fly southwest to the closest airport whichever that is and see if the owner will pick me up and I can buy the vehicle in person and drive it down the 2000 miles back. Not that it wont be fun but I wanted to keep the milage down on this vehicle as much as possible. And with a 2000 mile drive I am bound to get some rock chips from all the highway miles on the front fascia which I dont want.:shakehead: Even though it will be my daily driver I don't go far distances in town since mostly everyone I know and hang out with live within a 15 to 20 mile radius, I probably put in 7500 to 8000 miles a year if that. And since I dont drive my current GT to work its really going to like a weekend / night time vehicle just like the GT.

Best things I have ever done were road trips when I bought any of my cars far away. The money you spend to transport is a plane ticket and gas money.

3M tape and road trip it Danny. Best times on the road right there.

Can't recall the name right now, but a car transport company in Loveland, CO. delivered my new Avalon from Texas. They wrecked the undercarriage and there was some kind of oil all over the paint. The dealer replaced the car and sued them; point is, be on the lookout for a transport company from Loveland, CO.

    Temporary Protective Film (PTF)

Transportwrap -will provide your vehicle with a temporary layer of protection to preserve your automotive exterior finish during transport or a very long road trip. Even if you are planning to transport your vehicle via enclosed carrier, our product can provide additional protection from unnecessary scratches or fluid dripping from a vehicle stored or stacked above. You can also apply it around door edges, key entry lock, fender edges, etc. for added peace of mind during open/enclosed transport.

The manufacturer recommends it be left on for a maximum of 30 days; these conditions are involving direct sunlight and moving at high speeds above 60mph. If you are putting the vehicle on a boat and it will occasionally not be in the sunlight I have seen it last longer than that without issue. Transportwrap has a low tack adhesive designed for not only easy application, but also very easy removal. We use a rubber based adhesive that is just strong enough to resist edge lift during transport (high wind speeds) but can easily be removed without leaving any residue nor pulling up any automotive decal vinyl that is securely on.
