Looking at pads for the G110 / G220 DA . Thinking of LC CCS , either the 5.5 or 6.5 inch pads. which would be better ? if im not wrong the 5.5 comes in low profile too and that probably makes it more efficient and less bogging/hopping . and for a first timer, will the 5.5 inch still be safe ? or should I just go for the sonus pads ? seems like sonus only comes in 3 different levels, finish, polish and cut. whereas with the LC, there's white and orange, not considering the yellow at the moment. if the sonus only has one stage polish pad, how would it compare with the white and orange from LC ?
The 5.5's might get you better correction than the 6.5's with an R.O You'll break down your abrasives faster. If you get the 6.5 don't fret you may just have to work product longer.
I would suggest 5.5" for sure. I have a Flex 3401 and tired out a 5.5" on it this past weekend on a hammered Caddy CTS and it turned out to be one of the best panels. Wish I had more, but had only ordered one to try out. I used the Flex on speed 6, orange 5.5" Erasure pad and Menzerna Powergloss. Yeah, that baby was really cooking, but the paint needed it. As others have stated, going anything bigger is a tradeoff with more time needed to correct.
ok ive shortlisted the lc ccs 5.5 inch low profile pads and the sonus sfx / danase pads which do you guys think is better ?
Honestly, I think you should try both. There are a lot of people that love the CCS pads, but others that hate them and think they hop and skip. Whether that holds true for the smaller 5.5" pad, I don't know. Then there are a lot of people that love the sonus/danase pads...but I've not read many negatives on them. I've experienced 6.5" & 7.5" CCS pads on my Flex DA as well as 6.5" Cross Grove pads. Once I've worn out the pads I have, I'm going to try the sonus/danase pads.
Big fan of the Sonus SFX style pads that Danase and CG sell. Not sure if Eshine still has some for sale or not but they did.
