Getting Ready todo fall/winter prep, Which Decon Gel do you guys prefer? i see alot of them out there now, Auto Finesse has one now too. Or are they all pretty much the same? TIA!
Only used Wolfs and Iron-X. Iron-X has my vote at the moment. Looking to see what Optimum releases at SEMA .
its really hard to say which is "better". Most everyone will give a different answer for a different reason. Iron-X/Iron Cut both seem similar and seem to be pretty strong deironizers Wolfs can sit and dwell basically indefinitely I haven't seen anything really on AF Iron Out.
I recently bought my first decon spray and ended up going with TRIX. Anyone have any experience with this? I tried it and didn't see much results... Kinda disappointed over here. -Beach
Really? I use that stuff from time to time, which reminds me i need to order more thanks LoL. It works excellent for what i have used it for. What is it that you are using it on or trying to do? It could be that the vehicle or item in question that you might be spraying it on doesn't have anything that needs to be removed thus making the TRIX not activate and turn color. Just a thought.
Trix needs to be shaken after a few sprays. It works well for lower panels, but I wouldn't use it to decon an entire vehicle.
Well I used it on my GF's 2002 Lexus IS300. Never been clayed and paint felt like sand paper around the entire car with a baggie test. It was not maintained very well in the paint department until I got my hands on it. I started with: CG Citrus in the foam cannon, Rinse CG Citrus Two-Bucket Wash, Rinse & Dried TRIX on Basically everything lol (I was really excited to use a decon product for the first time and was anxious to see a ton of purple) I was pretty disappointed I followed the application directions spot on and the only place on the entire car was here: I had a difficult time trying to fight the product drying on the surface. I applied TRIX in the shade, ZERO Breeze, and in the evening before the sun went down so it was actually quite cool outside. I kept spraying more and more to avoid drying out on the surface. I was constantly shaking the bottle while applying. I will be using TRIX on another bad vehicle soon and see how it turns out again. Any suggestions on other products? I may just go for Iron-X next. Thanks for the responses guys! -Beach

The paint can feel very ruff without having iron deposits or contaminates The roughness you felt could very well be tree sap an non-metalic matter. Thus not much purple showed up on the surface.
I tried Iron cut, iron X and wolfs decon, my vote goes to wolfs decon. I like the gel properties of it and the smell is better IMO&E
