I found that the best deals are found using live cashback (which is at 14% off right now, may go higher) on ebay.com. But otherwise, I would stick with the trustworthy sites such as JR, BHphotovideo, beachcamera, amazon, etc.

I personally wouldn't purchase lenses online, the reason I say that is because if I have any issues with the lens I would rather driver over to the store and deal with it then dealing with online companies. Actually online companies would refer you the manufactures, I'm sure the local store would try to do the same but for the store I go to they deal with the issues, so for me it's a peace of mind knowing all I need to do is drive to the store and they would deal with the issue...then again I've never dealt with an online store, I have ordered filters from BH and it seems like a great site, if I were to order online it would be from BH a co-workers orders lots of things from them, actually it was him that introduced me to BH.

Any who just my :2cents: though.

Either buy a used lens off Craigslist, or new off B&H.

Ive bought 2 lenses from Adorama and I've had good luck with them. One of them was a refurb and its very nice. Not a scratch on it.

I was going to suggest Adorama as well. I just bought a 5-pack of SanDisk SD cards and a Lowepro Rezo 110-AW gear bag from them and am waiting for my package. :p:

I buy all of my gear from B&H and Adorama. You can't go wrong with either.

All of the places that have very low prices online are not reputable. Make sure you check reseller ratings before you buy since many online camera stores are trouble.

How are the prices on the Ritz clearance sales? Is it worth it for me to head down there and rummage? I heard the same people who gave the shitty liquidation sales at Circuit City are also doing Ritz...

Price varies i think. just call ahead and ask what the price is. got $500 lens that other ritz camera sells for only $300 so id say damn good price. even lower then my employee purchase was with pentax when that lens was avaliable so im happy kinda, waiting review on sigma 18-250 since it has hypersonic motor which is noiseless

Ritz is the biggest rip off ever. Buy from Adorama or B&H.

I've got nothing but praise for these guys and right now, free shipping with orders over $300. This is a sweet deal all the way around for me, as living in CA, my sales tax is 8.25%:yikes:

    robertsimaging.com

So, they have VERY good prices, no shipping and no sales tax. I've actually been to the store and it's dangerous to go in there with your credit card.

Bought my D700 and some lenses from them. Very happy with their service and customer support.

Adorama, B&H are good. All I can say is be sure to check the lens immediately. sometimes some clowns (not often the seller) returns stuff and claiming it was new.
