I'm interested in a clay lube, but I don't want it to make the surface slick so that polishing tape doesn't stick (I'm sure many of you know I'm venting my frustration with Meguiar's Last Touch as a clay lube). What works the best for you guys?
ONR that is between clay and QD ratio with some #00 Megs Hi-Tech wash....after I clay I always do a citrus foam and rinse to remove any residue.
ONR at clay lube strength, never had a problem with tape not sticking but then again I only tape badges and trim, not much on the paintwork besides for 50/50's, and that will stick unless I hit it with the buffer.
Used it after you suggested it and never gone back! So slick and works great...#00 is also great for laying down vinyl.
#00 was originally developed for wetsanding purposes, if I remember correctly. It is very slick, I used it for wetsanding myself, then once thought to add it to ONR, which didn't feel as slick as Pinnacle clay lube (my favorite, but isn't very cost effective) and it worked very well...once I tried it, I never gone back to just plain ONR for clay lube...this solution doesn't ruin your clay bar either...
I use AM #49 BodyShine for clay lube. I have yet to find something slicker. ONR doesn't even come close and it stays wetter longer than anything else on the market. Is available in gallons and 20Litre jugs as well.
