Hey guys, I'm planning on placing an order with Detailers Domain this week and need some new soap. What are some great soaps that Phil carries that y'all would recommend? I have used P21S and Zaino Z7, I really liked the P212S. I was thinking about Prima Mystique but saw Mindflux's review and am thinking about 1Z Perls, Optimum's regular soap, Lusso (expensive for 8 Oz's) and maybe more P21S. Thanks guys, let me know what you think!

Does Adams compare to any? Always wanted to try it.

Check out this long thread where various soaps are discussed.

Personally right now I am liking OPT Car Wash the best, great cleaning, great lubricity and great suds, smells great too. Just picked up a gallon from Phil.

I've heard great thing about the Lusso but I can't justify the cost either.

1Z Perls works great but I personally like more foam.

Never was really a fan of P21S Shampoo but last time I used it was easily 7 years ago.

I love P21S and Blackfire is very nice as well but DG is very similar to Blackfire and is half the money.

    yep lusso for me

re cost, ive been using the same tiny bottle for over 3 months now and there's still a good 1/3 left

1.5 capfuls per wash for me

for wheels i use either sonax or cg maxisuds as a) using lusso on wheels is a waste, b) the poorboys b&b i use on the tyres strips all the lusso suds, and c) lusso doesnt have enough bite to clean under guards/inside wheel barrels

Adam's is one of the best, if not the best I've used. Swissvax Car Bath is good, Zymol Clear Auto Bathe is good... all are pH neutral, but you can get a gallon of Adam's for the same price as a small bottle of the other two.

Plus, I'm addicted to the cherry scent!

Bang for buck the Optimum, Adams or Prima are gonna be your best bets.

Are you limiting yourself to purchasing from Phil's store?

Adam's is one of my favorites. Haven't tried the Lusso yet . The Sonax soap seemed to work really well .But I only had the small sample bottles I got from Phil's meet and great. May pickup a standard size bottle to fully evaluate. Mystique worked pretty nice . But as stated if your a suds person it may not be for you.

P21s is good if you are only buying from dd but I prefer Shampoo Plus. It works really well, smells great, and is very cost effective.

If you want to order your stuff from somewhere else other than Phil,
You can always try Duragloss 901 ($5 ground shipping in USA) or chemical guys citrus wash gloss, less than $30 a gallon
Majestic solution UltraGloss is awesome too, but shipping is expensive.

I like the Adams shampoo myself, tons of lubrication and one of the best foaming/foam gun soaps I have used to date.

Lusso is all I ever wash my car with as I have stated many times. In regards to its cost effectiveness, just as Domino said a little goes a long way. A small bottle should be good for quite a few washes. I always put in too much and keep cutting down the amount I need.

It has not stripped or dwindled (yup, fruity word of the day) the sealant on my car, its got great suds and its super slick. Plus the smell is awesome, may not seem like much but it makes the product very enjoyable to use.

As far as being economical goes, you cant beat Bilt Hamber. One tablespoon in a 5 gallon pail.
