Hi, As I'm not really a fan of powerful wheel cleaners I have been using shampoos on wheels most of the time until now. I will continue this to some extend, but I would like to try a dedicated wheel cleaner for tougher jobs. I have been looking up quite a few products, and at the moment I think it's a choice between the following: - Gloss It Signature Wheel Gel - P21s/R222 Gel Wheel Cleaner I can easily get the red P21s gel, but don't know how safe it is on bare aluminium finishes and such. What are your views on them? The price doesn't matter, I simply need the best suited product. A direct comparison would be great. Kind regards, Ebbe Jørgensen
ive also tryed diablo and thought it worked really good but ive heard that the red p21s gel is the best
If you can get Red PS21 I'd go for it, I've heard nothing but good things about it... and I know Nica has uses it and have seen him use it on unfinished wheels. I have been using diablo and am very happy with it...
The GI wheel gel is excellent and even in diluted form will remove as much as the regular P21S Gel. I haven't tried the Red yet so can't comment on it.
If you can get Red P21S Gel I'd go with that, it's by far much superior then anything I've tried, it makes the Green version look like just plain dish soap   Red P21S Gel is all I use and I've used it on all sorts of rims, aluminum, steel ect..ect..from cheap rims to high end HRE rims, Red P21S Gel works incredibly well and best of all it's safe...don't let the smell fool you.
I think you cannot go wrong with either one - P21S green or red, or GI wheel gel...you can also consider CG Diablo wheel gel...
Thanks guys, going to buy the red stuff. There's a company here in Denmark having it on sale at the moment, and the canister says it's a new "fresh smelling" formula. Kind regards, Ebbe Jørgensen
In need of a supplier? Thought Nica had something going on Taxes in Denmark are pretty high, so in most cases it's cheaper from elsewhere. I buy lot of my products in the UK e.g. It's the 2l canisters which are on sale at the moment and it's 188 Danish Kroner(the currency). It's about 36 $. It may not be so cheap for you guys in the states, as the dollar is quite low at the moment. Kind regards, Ebbe
Fresh smell is not how I would describe the P21S Red I have (locker room sneakers might come close) I hope they have improved the chemical smell
- That's what I am hoping. I have heard quite a few state that it smells like rotten eggs.. Not exactly pleasant. Kind regards, Ebbe
Question - Just wanted to clarify the difference between the P21S GEL (green) & the P21S Wheel Cleaner - - 1) Is the Gel just a little stronger?? 2) Is the Gel save to use on a weekly basis? Thks
The gel is the stronger of the two. Gloss It wheel gel is just as strong as P21S Gel even when its diluted 3:1. Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner works as well as P21S gel as well, is safe on uncoated aluminum and costs waaaaaay less.
Ahhh your Ken - Zookie just recommended you in a post on another forum! I'll make sure to add this to my growing list of items to get. Thanks for the response -
