What to use to prep trim

As the title implies, what it the proper way to prep rubber trim? The rubber trim around my door windows are spotty, and I have no idea what to use to prep them before applying Adam's VRT. Should I while if down with a water/ipa mixture?

 

just use an apc. ipa is good too.

 

APC should work just fine.

 

+1, I use zep citrus at 1:5

 

1:1 IPA and water is what I've used
