Hey guys, I am doing an Infiniti QX56 right now and I was wondering....what should I do about the large chrome pieces on the car?

The mirrors on it are chrome, the door handles, and the large door molding is also chrome. It's also contaminated.... should I clay it? Can you polish it or at least apply glaze on it with a DA? Also, are you supposed to wax the chrome pieces at the end of the detail? I usually only wax paintwork, but this car has so much bling, it makes me wonder if I should wax those pieces too...

I just don't want to leave it as is because it looks like crap compared to the rest of the car that I did so far.

    I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks.

P21S polishing soap all the chrome lol. Anyways there are some glazes you can use on chrome. PB's Black Hole being a great one for that use. And yup you can clay the chrome trim. As for waxing it if you have some sort of sealant such as BF All Metal Sealant I would prob use that instead of a wax.

If it's plastic chrome, use something like Jeff's Werkstatt Prime, Duragloss 501, Autoglym SRP, etc. Using a metal polish will mess it up.

    Thank you guys.

I only have one sealant- blackfire wet diamond.

I have multipls 3M glazes that I don't remember the number to off the top of my head. Do you think it's risky to apply these glazes?

Just wash, clay and apply the sealant. It'll look awesome.

I have usually used a cleaner wax on plastic chrome.

    Here is what I do:

Hand-wash, clay, hand-wash again to remove clay residue, then either:

    1) clean+protect using Mother's Chrome Polish (blue-white gel in the 236mL squeeze bottle, not the spray bottle). The consistency is a runny gel, so it is easy to work into small surfaces using a cloth. Let it dry to a haze, then buff with a clean cloth. Repeat if needed or for additional shine. You can use this product to clean and to top up the shine in the future.
    OR
    2) protect using a synthetic polymer sealant. Your future cleaning products may remove the sealant, so you'd have to be careful about that (or reapply sealant each time). Maybe just handwash with wool mitt and normal car soap to maintain the properties of the sealant.
