I have this posted on another forum but had no help yet, hopefully someone here can help. I have a client with a gorgeous white 91 Rolls and wants me to take care of it for him. The top is white vinyl and looks pretty dirty. What can I use on it so that I do not mess it up? I have a PC that I only use with the brush attachments for interior leather, and carpets. Could I use one of the brushes without damaging the top? I realized I have never dealt with a vinyl top before and any information would be very helpful. Thanks
If the leather bound owner's manual is in the glove compartment there will be directions in there for cleaning. Personally I'd clean the top by hand first before resorting to a PC, but even so Rolls uses only top quality components so IMO you're unlikely to damage it. Plan on posting pics here?
I'd consider the age of the top. Since it's a 91, and even though it's a Roller, that's quite old and might be too aged to use a PC on. Perhaps try cleaning it by hand first and see what the results are before resorting to a machine. I bet some ARO would do wonders on it.
Wolfsteins Pro-Series RaggTopp ™ Vinyl Cleaner and then the Vinyl Protectant Surflex -restore (or change) the colour of vinyl it’s a flexible surface colorant, it’s a water -based polymer pigmentation. Does not crack, chip or become brittle with age, restores the natural appearance and does not look "painted". Will not fill in or cover up the natural vinyl grain pattern, remains permanently flexible. Allow at least 6 weeks for the new finish to "cure" before cleaning. Clear-Cote was originally developed to protect vinyl tops from oxidation and embedded dirt build-up. Clear-Cote is also a protective coating for newly refinished vinyl. It provides a durable, washable surface for any vinyl surface. Specify Original Gloss or Matte Finish when ordering Clear-Coate is especially recommended for use on very light colours, off whites and bright reds, and as a protective finish in hot and humid climates. –Color-Plus
Thanks for the help. I will try by hand first, I will look into the products mentioned. Yes I plan to post picks, I don't know when they will be back I'm the states to schedule the car though. Thanks again
