My dad and I have an Escort Cosworth that is in concours conditon but we don't show it or get involved in the concours scene at all. The car is polished with Autoglym super resin followed by Autoglym extra gloss protection then Simoniz origional wax - the yellow metal tin of wax not the liquid stuff.

My dad has ordered a white Mk2 Focus RS and asked me if there is any polish/wax that is specifically made for light colour cars. I have found Dodo juice Diamond white. What is it like and is it better than what we do? We do not want to go down the road of machine polishers but don't mind a bit of elbow greese for a good hand polished finish.

    Any reccomendations, ideas or advice?

Do you have or use clay?

If you don't want to learn correction work the first thing I'd do is go over my wash methods, if you don't micro marr the finish in the first place you don't have to worry about correcting it!

As far as a wax for light colored cars, I have a pearl white car... I like the sealant look on that car, Jetseal looks great...

A few things to consider. Diamond white is very nice but lacks on the durability so expect to wax often - every 6 weeks or so. Are you looking for a bright finish or warm glow? How often do you want to redo your LSP? As kustomizingkid said, more importantly, learn the proper method to wash your car. Go to polishedbliss.co.uk and look at Richs car care section. Very well written and easy to understand.

I'm kind of confused, are you thinking that a wax can polish too?
