I just want to clay to ensure my new sealant coat bonds properly, but scared like crazy that I'll indice marring. I ordered some poly clay from cleanyourcar, but who knows when that'll arrive, and I am itching to get on my car!

Of course I'm gonna be using ONR at an extremely thick concentration and practically wasting it as to keep lubricity to a maximum, but I need some clay to use by like tomorrow, and I was thinking about using Mothers. It's a really soft clay.

Anyone have any other bright ideas???

I actually prefer either the meguiar's otc clay, or clay magic blue is available at autozone.

I have used the Mothers and Meg's clay. They seem a bit different in feel (Mothers more pliable) but perform the same.

I like Mothers Showtime so I now get the Mothers clay.

I just bought that Meguiar's clay kit, I have not used it yet but I'm glad to see that it won't induce marring, that's something I was concerned about too.

I cannot say I've ever clayed without doing at least SOME marring. I never clay without following up with a light polish.

yeah it all depends on how much pressure youre putting on the paint. ive marred cars before using bilt hamber soft, which is a very soft clay, but i was pressing pretty hard with it and was about to do an extensive correction so i wasnt so much worried about marring. i recently tried the megs clay that a client of mine actually had and its pretty damn nice for OTC. havent used the mothers stuff tho.

Well, I should say, I plan on polishing the car with PO85rd before I seal it with Zaino.

The paint currently has no swirl marks or buffer trails, I keep the paint perfect, but I just wanted to bring the gloss up to life with some PO85rd and a Uber blue pad.

Just hoping not to do damage to have to do a two step...gosh knows I've done 2 step polishes ENOUGH on that clear to get it to where it is. The clear is at healthy levels, just don't wanna do all that work AGAIN on it!

Thinking I might try Mothers clay, the automagic is WAY to aggressive to not marr

hmm...well my car has some marring, a result of several months of incorrect washing and drying technique, but it's not really that bad. I have not done any paint correction work, but I don't think it should mar it if I don't use a lot of pressure. This will be my first time claying too, by the way. '09 GTI.
