Hey guys, thinking about mixing it up with my applicator of choice for waxes and sealants. I am currently using the yellow round foam apps from Meguiars. Problem with them that I have is that to get a good grip on it i feel i have to put too much pressure on the middle of the pad, which in turn sometimes causes me to put on waxes/sealants too thick in places. With waxes like Colli 915, this can be a huge pain in the ass. I am really interested in the rectangular sort of shaped applicators that are dual sided, i think this would really fit my hand well. I know blackfire makes a gold and white one, what are yall using and had any experience with the ones i mentioned? AG sells some Red Lake country apps but i have used the buffing pad and it soaks up product like no other...seen here Red UltraSoft CCS Euro Foam Hand Polish Applicator Buy One, Get One Free!

I'm using phil's new red applicators as of now. They are amazing. But the red one you pictured is great, I have the blackfire gold ones and they work very well.

If you're looking to change from round to these, it's worth it. However, I have found it hard to use with hard wax (such as concorso or RBOE) with the ones you linked to (or the blackfire) and still prefer Phil's round ones. But for applying things like ZAIO or JS109, the blackfire can't be beat.

Hope this helps a bit! :peace:

I've been using the Pinnacle yellow foam applicators. I find there a great all around applicator. AutoGeek was or is having a BOGO Free on them 12 for 9.99 I bought two...:thumb:

I would like to try the Blackfire Yellow and white ones at some point. they look like high quality...:thumb:

The red ones that you speek of are to soft and hold way to much product and keep you from appying just a thin layer. Well, Thats what I ran into anyway. I tried it with FMJ and I thought I was going to die before I got it all off...

I feel the same way about the Meg Applicators. It's because it's two pcs. not one like the Pinnacle ones...I agree with you on this. The applicator just slides on its self and the paint.

I know that I have said somethings that you said but I think we are on the same page. I can't really make any purchases right now but the blackFire has got my vote for the next order. 911 swears by them and they're not cheap either.

I have all different kinds of apps. I have one of the block ones for tires from DD. I have meg's gold class apps, top of the line yellow foam apps (both used for wax and sealants), and a SV app for my jar of SV. My jar of s100 came with its own app. I have some redd ccs apps (round ones) and some microfiber apps as well.

I had purchased one of those overpriced polishing pals...basically a plastic molded knob with some velcro on it and it attaches to round polishing pads (like a blue or red LC CCS pad). For some reason, I do not use it much. It is nice since you can put a lot of downward pressure and keep your hands clean.

Like Buddy..I use the foam ones you can get in bulk from AG. I have also slowly added a few gold CCS ones as well. They both work fine. I am starting to lean towards applying them with my UDM anyway, so I got a gold and red CCS pad for that.

Most of mine are all Megauirs foam applicators and I love them! Once those run out, which should be a while, I might look at Phil's red ones!

I'm with Aaron. Blackfire Ultimates ( rectangular gold/white ) for applying sealants and round ones for wax.

my app of choice for my waxes are my large red Euro CCS apps. for applications of SV cleaner fluid i use the black SV app. for sealants i use the DD Uber all purpose yellow apps and for JS109 i use one of CG's red circle "hockey puck" apps. i was thinking about trying out phils newer ones, but then id have like twenty applicators, and thats just a waste IMO. my favs are the red euro CCS and the black SV one because its foam on one side and a very soft terry cloth type material on the other.

For sealants I use the Stage 3 applicators from Chemical Guys. These work best for me. For waxes I really love any 4" pad that I can attach to my Polishing Pal.

I have a lot of apps. I like the euro red ccs one, and the flying saucer from phil. The white euro one from ben (rubbish boy) is great for cleaners like dg501 and dj lime prime lite. I also have the german euro shaped one (the 3 color one). It is very nice as well.

I also just received the foam finger pockets from Ben. I ordered 2, so I can see how well they fare with normal waxes as well. I like how precise you can be with the application when using the finger foam pockets.

I really only use the smaller yellow meg's ones for wheel sealant/black wow aplication. I find my hand cramps up too fast when using those tiny things.

I have those, and that is not a deal. Lol..buy one get one free...but the applicator is twice as much as it is anywhere else! I get those for $2.49 each from my supplier..lol

BTW, I like them for things like Jetseal, Lime Prime, etc.

I've been using MF applicators for sealants, and regular foam applicators to apply wax and everything else...Most of them (turtle wax brand) I got from Big Lots, they were $0.40 a piece...can't beat that!

So those that have used the Red CCS app, have yall noticed it absorbing an inordinate amount of product? Wouldnt be such a big deal with paste waxes, but it would be for liquid sealants. I have been eyeing the ones that Rubbish Boys sells..i hate white though haha...my CG "hockey puck" apps came with my 50/50 and Jetseal combo, now they are grey, look dingy

i would never use a red Euro CCS to apply a sealant. the apps are just wayyyyy to big and thick for that kind of application. it would be a waste of product.

    SpecC Wax on..Wax off

i have tried these and they are the quickest and best way to apply sealant imo

    Danase Double Foam Applicator

for wax, i seem to always go back to the yellow foam

I used to use the traditional yellow applicators but have now moved on to the red 4" buffing pads from Excel Detail, the red CCS apps from Phil at DD and I actually have one Blackfire applicator and one of Phil's new red foam apps as well. I definitely like the new stuff I have moved onto. :)
