I was curious to know what towel you guys normally look for various jobs while detailing. Narrow it down to size, color, purpose. Do you care to buy a yellow all purpose towel that gets dirty on cleaning engines, wheels, mufflers, etc? I am very curious what size towel you guys prefer to remove LSP's as well. I normally use 16x16 but have been using 16x24 recently. More towel to work with to remove product. How many use waffle weave for cleaning windows? Lastly, do you prefer to use waffle weave for drying or large microfiber towels? My preference is: Darker color 16x16 for exterior jobs such as wheels, engine cleaning, etc Lighter color 16x16 (softer MF) for interior 16x24 very plush mf for LSP removal 20x40 waffle weave towel for drying 16x16 waffle weave for windows Thanks for looking and putting your response!

I have a shiteload of MF towels at the house, and I've used them all. I keep going back to this one as my all-time favorite. Not too thick, not too thick, just perfect. LOVE THIS TOWEL!!! 16"x16" Ultra Premium
I use a lot of towels as well. I'm happy with the PakShak, Rag Shack and Tropi-Care towels. However, Justin has the best bang for the buck on towels! It's really hard to pass him up!
Glass: DD Glass MF's Drying: DD WW MF. Engine/wheels/jambs: Costco MF's Polish: Elite Deluxe Super Premium Wax: Same I don't care for the 16x24. It just seems like too much rag, and it gets wasted
I like the 16x24...70/30...380 gram for LSP removal.White. I like the 16x16...70/30...550 gram for LSP removal, final wipe down and qd'ing.Blue. I like the 16x24...80/20...350 gram for drying.Green I like the 16x16...80/20...320 gram for Interior.Yellow I like the 14x14...80/20...310 gram for engines, wheels, etc. White-blue. (BJ's warehouse towels) I use WW on windows when drying only not cleaning. I have been using Micro fiber towels lately for drying...They're always right there. Engines, wheels, interiors, metal polishing: Costco yellow Glass: Majestic Solutions blue huck window towels (they're pretty much the same as all the others) - Polish removal: ragshack.com Super Fly Towel (16x24) - LSP removal:: ragshack.com Gladiator & Super Fly Towel, Rubbish Boy's super plush Overall, I think my favorite is the Super Fly towels. I use them for just about everything. The MS window towels last *forever* so I haven't bothered to try anything else. And my Costco towels get worked really hard - I wouldn't be without them.
Thanks for the responses guys. Glad to see some people prefer the 300-400gm range as well as the very plush mf
For general purpose use on paint my ultimate favorite is.. PAKSHAK ULTRA SMOOTH 16x16 It just works for everything! I use it for buffing off polish because the short nap gives a little bit of bite but as the name states they are surprisingly smooth (even on sticky soft clears where something like a Eurow shag will streak easily or get caught) I use it for buffing off LSP for the same reason as above I love it for QD'ing because of its smoothness and its ability to absorb product without getting too damp After multiple washes and heavy use I have found no signs of wear or loss in softness. I had 5 originally but ordered 15 more in my last Pakshak order because I use them all the time. IMO just about the best all around MF you can have in your stack :thumb:
Glass: Rag Shack WW 16x24 (works awesome once washed) LSP: Rag Shack Super Fly 16x24 / Autowerkes Exclusive 530 Towel 16x16(fav.) Engines, Wheels, Metal Polishing, Interiors, Wheel Wells: Wal-Mart 16x16 multicoloured. Drying: Vroom Drying Towel, have yet to try the Rag Shack WW after washing it.
The Ultraplush 16x16 Pakshak towel is my favorite. All other towels and waffle weaves that I use are from Pakshak, their towels are the best out there.
Washing w/ONR: Dreadlock style MF wash mitts Polish removal: low nap towels like Viking poishing or Meg's Supreme Shine General Detailing: Uber (due to nice edging so towel stays flatter), Viking ok with satin Drying: Mothers Foam Core Waffle Weave.... (AutoGeek has one similar). better than any std WW
