    Hello,

I've been using over the counter stuff from AutoZone but it is time to move up. Any recommendations (I use foam gun)?. Is a Chemical Guys Citrus shampoo a good choice?

I really like 1Z Perls and Optimum car wash. A lot of guys also really like Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss for maintenance washing. I am using up my jug of CG citrus wash and gloss for stripping the wax off the surface. After that, I'm just going to use Meg's Gold Class with some APC like Optimum Power Clean mixed in to prep the surface.

1Z Perls is a fantastic option, this is all I use for my cars and my clients. Works great and is the only true wash and wax I have ever used.

If you are using a foam gun stick to product in gallon quantities.

I use Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II. It is super slick, and leaves the paint glossy.

DP Xtreme Foam would be another good choice for the foam gun.

Majestic Solutions Super Foam is great for a foam gun. Like pekel said, Ultra Gloss is an awesome car soap.

Personally I like optimum car wash in the foam gun. I use it at a 1:1 ratio with the glimour gun.

Duragloss 901 is a very good and cost effective soap. I can be purchased locally if you are near a napa or carquest as well.

I use the walmart TurtleWax because it's cheap but I'm assuming its very inferior to the products the professionals use? Am I right? Or is there really no point in spending the extra money because after all....soap is soap?

hehe soap isnt just soap as they are different in content and ph levels. I personally don't know whats in the turtlewax soap, could be good, could be bad but by spending more, we in a sense garuntee ourselves that it'll lubricate well and pull dirt off instead of having dirt riding across the paint. Turtlewax may also have added some polymer thingys that goes on while you wash your car, we tend to have our own lil protection setup so these become inferior/in the way.
Nonetheless, personal preference :) I have like 6 different car wash overlapping each other but they all smell different and some work better than others for some things.

What he said. I use it in my foam cannon.

I have also begun to use Lusso. (no foam cannon) Very slick, great smell.
