Hey folks, I wanted to ask if there are any products that are not listed below, that would be good to consider adding to my detailing arsenal. I have plans on starting out a small detailing business as a part-time gig. I'd like to take advantage of the Detailer's Domain moving sale to fill in any voids that you guys see in my line-up. I would like to make sure I have the compounds/polishes that work with harder clears, (i.e. Mercedes Ceramiclear, etc.). I have the following: - Optimum HyperCompound - Optimum Compound (1 not 2) - Optimum Polish (1 not 2) - Optimum Poli-Seal - Meg's 105 - Meg's 205 - Menzerna PowerGloss P34 - Menzerna Micro Polish P87 - Menzerna Super Finish P106FF - Menzerna Power Finish P203 - Menzerna Final Finish P85 (do I need this?) - LC CCS pads 3.5", 5.5", 6.5" | white, orange, blue, red - LC PFW pads | 4" & 6.5" - some LC flat pads, not many 2-3 - Meg's Burgandy and Yellow wool pads - 1Z Cockpit Premium - 1Z Plastic + Vinyl Cleaner (in my shopping cart) - 1Z Gummi Pflege - 303 Plastic/Rubber Protectant - a little bit of Leatherique (thinking about adding the Leather Masters combo to shopping cart) - Four Star leather care (bottle of cream) - Meg's D120 (glass concentrate) - 1Z Windshield Washer concentrate - Optimum APC (also come Meg's APC+) - Chemical Guy's CWC - Optimum Car Wash - DP Extreme Foam - Optimum Opti-Bond - Optimum ONR - Black Wow - Chemical Guy's M-Seal - Chemical Guy's JetSeal 109 (coming soon through recent purchase from forum member) - Chemical Guy's 50/50 wax - Chemical Guy's Bare Bones - P21S 100% Carnuba wax - XMT 180 Carnuba wax - Duragloss AquaWax 951 - Klasse AIO and SG - P21S metal polish (need some steel wool) - various foam applicators, (i.e. LC CCS red oval applciator, round) - Swissvax (wheel and interior brushes) - Meguiar's brushes (tire, trim/emblem, slide lock) - EZ Detail brush - Schmitt - Schmitt (wheel version) - chenille MF mitt (for ONR washes) - LC blue Grout sponge - Rigid shop vac - Craftsman power washer - Autobrite foam cannon - Sears 1000W tripod lamp - Makita 9227c - UDM - Uber "NoName" MF towels (a bunch) - 3 glass MF's (have some more Uber glass MF's in my shopping cart now) - Chemical Guy's 550 MF's - Cobra Shamrock 750 MF - Cobra Guzzler Waffle Wave towels - Uber 16x16 Microfiber Towels (in shopping cart, looks like a solid multi-use towel) I have a bunch of other misc stuff that escapes me at this time...
Nice collection :thumb: I would recommend considering a few of my favourites to round you out: - Meguiars D-151 (AIO with decent polishing ability for quickies') - FK1-425 & Zaino Z-8 (amazing qd/sealants) - 3M Ultrafina (best finishing/jewelling polish in the world IMHO) Good luck with your new business :support:
Forgot to add I have Optimum Poli-Seal, as another AIO. Will keep M151 min once I run out of current AIO's
You're pretty well covered but I think it would be nice if you purchased PO85RD and 3M UF. Other than that, you're really well-covered.
Jeweling polish, Aquapel, Duragloss 501/105, CG CWG, def more waxes (Collinite for cheaper detailers), ONR, deep reach wheel brush (EZ or DD brush), cant think of anything else. Nice collection though.
Meg's Hyper-Dressing, OCW, DG 105 (Iuse this on wheels sometimes as well). Do you have a shop-vac? Halogens or some kind of light to find defects? stuff for the 2BM?
Ace Powersticks...love my #401 & #604...gives me another reason to use a powertool. You need more pads of the non-CCS Uber variety IMO...you can never have enough pads especially if you're going to be doing some detailing on the side. Infratech would be good...Cam Spray PW... I'm SOOOO not the right person to be replying to this thread.
I know the Menz products don't like to work in the high heat. Are you comfortable doing a total detail with out Menz in your arsenal? That's always one of my concerns.
Most everyone else has helped round out your paint care needs, here are some other things to think consider: If you're working on customer's cars you might want to think about a paint thickness gauge (PTG). CG Lightning for upholstery (the 1Z foaming stuff didn't work for me, but some people find APC works fine too), 303 Fabric guard for the upholstery, Sprayway glass cleaner, CG Grime Reaper (or any other heavy duty degreaser for wheel wells), P21s wheel gel (or CG's sticky wheel gel, but I hear Denzil is still testing the new formula), some sort of exterior plastic/vinyl dressing like 1Z Tiefenpfleger/Black wow/CG Fade2Black, 1Z gummi Pflege is nice for the door/window seals, what do you use for a quick detailer? Optimum ID, purple or pink CG QD, Finish Kare 425 hope that helps! Best of luck with the new business!
If you're going to be mobile do you have anything to put your detailing supplies in to carry them from place to place. Good luck to you...:thumb:
What are you using for lighting? I read on another forum that just halogens does not show all the defects. It was a pretty interesting read, it did not show holograms that easily. Just something to consider. Of course, you could be using the Sun so no need to list that But could be useful on those poor weather days.
I have a small Rigid shop vac I bought a couple years ago. No horsepower monster, but it works. I have some Cobra waffle weave towels that I have been using, so go that covered Where would I expect to use the Ace powersticks? I have a bunch of brushes I can use for cleaning wheels. I think I may grab some of the Uber pads also, they look solid. I have a Craftsman gas powered pressure washer, and an Autobrite foam cannon. Do you mean in high heat/humidity, or just on a warm paint surface? I am thinking about ordering one of the Highline units, per JL's reviews, looks like a good product to keep one hopefully out of trouble. I currently have some P21S Wheel Gel. I have 1Z Gummi Pflege and Black Wow I have some ONR in QD dilution as a QD. I may grab some of the Optimum ID as it have gottne great reviews. I plan on keeping it stationary, at my house. I just picked up some of the tripod halogen lamps from Sears 1000W unit. I also have the Brinkmann xenon lamp in my shopping cart.
