How many of you guys have previous experience with Jeff's Werkstatt products? From what I've heard it's like Polycharged Klasse. Any good? Acrylic? Carnauba? TIA.
I used it for a while about 1.5 yrs ago. IMO the AJ needs a carnuba topper on reds/blacks, ect. AJ is very bright.
I have the AJTrigger, and the Prime, also their Gloss QD which I ran out, but I liked it a lot I like the Prime a lot because it does a great job cleaning. It's great on wheels, and door jambs, and like I said to clean up the finish The Trigger is also good stuff. I've used it about 3 times so far...
I have ajt and glos I have used it over AIO. i do not have prime. IMO it is VERY easy to use and layers great. It does not bead very well and durability was not as good as zaino. i am going to try and use it over prime to see if I get better durability. but I have to say it does look good I have seen pics of JW nuba and it looks great i just dont like using spray waxes on paying customers
I recently topped Opti-Seal with JW CJ and was really impressed with it. Very easy to do with spray on products.
I started out with the Prime Acrylic as my cleanser and the Jett as the stand-alone sealant. Prime is excellent, as Goose says, use it on wheels, paint, metals, interior and exterior windows, non-porous plastics too. I think the Prime is a true all-rounder and very easy to use. I've used both the excellent effect on Silver and after 3-4 coats of the Jett it glows well and offers about 9 months durability for the average car owner. Very easy to add coats, pretty much immediately. A superb undercoat for a good topping of wax also, it's not terribly fussy here either. Just don't use too much on the windscreen. Haven't used the Carnauba system but Polished Bliss use it often on their well-prepped cars. These two reds come to mind with the Carnauba: Polished Bliss Detailiing vs Audi S4 - True (uni)Grit! - Detailing World Polished Bliss Detailing vs 997 exterior + M3 CSL interior - Detailing World For the price, I think they are both excellent products.
I have some experience with it. Prime is pretty easy to use, seems to melt into the paint very quickly when applied via machine, so you really can't work it into the paint very well when you apply it to get any real deep cleaning or polishing effect from it. I would say it is best used after polishing, but before sealant. I wouldn't use it on paint that hasn't been pre cleaned or polished yet. AJ is a bit finiky to use, and it is damn near impossible to get off if you just apply it then come back and remove. What you need to do is apply it to one section (fender, half a hood, etc.), then come back with the applicator and basically buff it off with the applicator. It sounds wierd, but it works and it will make application 100x easier. Then come back and do a final buff with an MF, although there should hardly be any residue. IMO the look is kind of sterile, very bright. Also, the beading isn't that great and neither is slickness. It consistently lasts about 3 months on my aunt's daily driver before beading/slickness/looks are gone, and about 4-5 months on a garage queen. Hope this helps.
I have AJT,AJ, Prime A and normal Prime. You only use like 4 drops per door, 6 for the roof, etc I like it. It shines great, beading is tight and for me it last 4 to 6 months in the TX heat. If you want more wetness, I throw on CG5050 after it dries. If you are having a hard time with removal you are putting on WAY to much. Again, I do the complete car with about 30 drops of prime. I like AJT better then AJ since it is faster.
I have used Werkstat AJT and topped it with Wet Obsession. It's one of my favorite combos ever!! The Werkstat stuff is so easy to use.
I'll throw my completely un-biased opinion in here as well. The best thing about the Werkstat products is that you don't have to wait long between layers, only 30 minutes and each layer only takes about 20 minutes to apply. You could easily build up 8 - 10 coats on your car over a few weeks before winter. Two coats will easily last 4 months for the Acylic and 3 months for the Carnauba. Using the Prime products will add a bit of durability as they have the protective properties in them as well. Makes them great for doing jambs with. The AJT leaves whites with a shiny, warm glow ( not as shiny as some sealants ) and a few layers of the CJ will add a good amout of depth to dark colours. Hope this helps.
Exactly. What I learned to do was to just keep spreading it till you can no longer see it. Probably similar to what people said about Klasse Sealant Glaze, I have never used KSG so I cannot say one way or the other. Werkstat Prime is very similar to Klasse AIO, a very good cleaner and Prime Strong is nice if you are working on a car the could use just a touch of polishing. In my next order I am thinking about going with Prime Acrylic (since my car doesn't need much cleaning) and Acrylic Jett Trigger.
I'll leave some input as well. I used Prime and AJT this past weekend. I prepped the car with a PO203 and 85RD. This gave me a clean slate for Prime and AJT. Outside temps were around 45-50F. I applied Prime with a yellow applicator pad in circular motion. I didn't prime the pad with anything. It didn't spread well at all. One pea sized drop does roughly 2x2 section. It felt like I was using way too much product. Wiping this stuff off was a major pain. Since the product didn't spread so well, some areas were applied too thick. I buffed off the majority of the product and started applying AJT. It was windy out so I did one spray on a CG 530xl MF per panel (fender or 1/3 hood). Pretty much applied it to the paint in straight lines. Any leftover Prime you have on the paint is taken off at this time. Then with another MF buff off to a brilliant shine. I did 3 coats with 30 min intervals of curing time. Let me tell you guys, AJT is worth the money. Paint felt super slick and sharp reflections. I can't say much about durability. It rained the same night and the beads were super tight and water sheets off when you drive.
I have a couple of Werkstat products: Prime Carnauba, Carnauba Jett Trigger, Carnauba Glos, Prime Acrylic, Acrylic Jett Trigger, Acrylic Glos, Prime Strong, Satin Prot. I have been impressed with all of them. Carnauba series looks great on red and the Acrylic series is my go to combo for silver and white. Carnauba series on red Acrylic series on silver
starvekos- welcome to the boards! I've been using Jeff's Carnauba line on my black truck and wife's black car for the last 3 months. Beading has been very strong, durability seems to be good for a nuba, and the amount of product needed per application is very small. Great value for the money, produces a truly great look, and feels like it has kept our cars looking clean for longer than any other product I've used...so much so that my wife asked what I used on her car because it looks great after 2 weeks without a wash. I have the Satin Prot, used it once, and recommend using it on areas that you don't mind a little extra shine. It's far from super wet looking, but even after buffing out an application, it's still very shiny leaving a slick finish. I usually opt for a natural look (1Z Cockpit fanatic), so nothing against the product, maybe just not my speed. I will however continue to use it because it seems to last quite well. For the money, BUY SOME.
