I was thinking it would be nice for web stores to have a policy that if after 7 days from a purchase of a product, if it goes on sale you can get credit on your account for a later purchase. I hate buying a product and seeing it go on sale a few days later. Does anyone else think this would be a good policy for them?
hard to do it for non very big businesses especially with low profit margins per item. its a good policy for consumers but it completely throws off numbers for the retailer.
It would also take away some of the incentive for companies to run sales. The whole reason to run a sale is to draw in new customers that might not have bought in that time frame. Generally the sale priced items are offered with the hope that you will buy other items while there so they accept that they won't be making a lot on the sale item. The retail stores that have policies where they will refund the difference that tend to make such a huge markup that even at a deep discount they still have plenty of profit left. When you are making 300% markup then selling at 50% is easy. How about a 30 day price match option on checkout, if the price goes down they refund, if it goes up they charge the difference Life is full of risks and opportunities. If you buy today it could be cheaper next week or it could be more expensive then.
Very good points guys, glad to see it from different perspectives. Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
