Well I need to get my website up and running and need help picking a host. I don't need anything fancy or expensive, as I don't get alot of traffic to my site, just for customers to browse around. So please give links and personal experience. Thanks

I'm using 1and1.com per recommendation from a friend. It's been great l for me, the services are very good and the control panel is clean and efficient. Pricing is fantastic, I chose the 1&1 home webhosting package, it does the job pretty well.

I use 1and1 also. Easy to get a page up and running. There are plenty of options for page layouts, nav and colors however, the text formatting and picture placement on the page is somewhat limited. I'm happy with the service, the site builder tool is good, lots of extras plus it's very affordable.

When you are setting up your page and content just keep search engine optimization (SEO) in mind so you are not doing it after the fact like me. Google "basic SEO" or "SEO forums" to learn how to setup a robots.txt file, format your page titles, keyword research, sitemap, etc. Sign-up for a Google account, they have some good webmaster tools and 1and1 has good reporting also.

The control panel is much easier to use than GoDaddy also.

    Good luck!

1and1 is good and cheap. One of my favorites is asmallorange.com. They will not oversell their servers. This is very good as far as reliability and having problems with other domains on the same server as you.

Hmm, guess I'll givea 1and1 a shot instead of GoDaddy.
