As the title states, this is something I've yet to perfect.

I've thought about Griot's dried on wax remover, but my main concern would be which tools are best to get into crevices and the compound stuffed up under rubber seals.

If you dont have access to a good Steamer, there are a couple of little brushes that are good for this, sold at auto detailing solutions dot com. Believe they are SM Arnold brushes. One is green like a toothbrush but has a row of very short nylon bristles on one end that are good for getting into tiny spaces. The other is a black boars hair brush that is like a little paint brush with short, black bristles, that are very good for getting into the areas you speak of to get out this garbage left by Detailers that forget what the word means...

Best way to do this is at the beginning of the clean up, before any correction, etc., find all this stuff and eliminate it then, so it wont interfere with your processes LSP-on...

If its really hard white stuff to get out, and brushes cant be used or dont get it, my all time favorite is a Qtip that has been twisted in the correct direction more tightly so there is a point at the end, and a drop or two of Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner, rub the area, it will come off on the Qtip, maybe have carefully wipe dry, and its done. This Einszett product does not hurt paint but should not be used in the sunlight or on hot surfaces..

If only more Detailers (and I use the word very loosley for those I speak of), would get all the "details" in the first place, it would make everyone's life a little easier I think..
    Good luck with your research!

I've used a small soft paint brush with the metal wrapped in tape. I spray the crevice with an APC and then agitated and rinse well.
    Qtips also work very well.

For seams-use an old credit card with an MF towel...
