I was watching a show earlier about Air Force One. Apparantly, there are two identical planes that form the Air Force One fleet. And they showed four guys waxing it. By hand! Apparantly, they don't allow buffers on it. So yes, they have to wax both planes by hand. And that's a Boeing 747-200! Amazing!
That was actually a retired Air Force One plane that they detailed, not the current two. No machines are used on those, just hand waxed. Probably with Crystal Rock!
LOL this thread is just too funny. So when can we expect the 2 planes in the Pro Detaling/Show and Shine section?:
lol...wow by hand that's in sane :thud: :thud: I did a small single engine air plane with sneek and it kicked my rear end...to this date I have not detailed anything tougher then that little air plane...incredable how big a small single engine air plane can be :woo: Now imagine a full sized 747 wow :thud: Oh but I would love to do such an air plane..heck I'll even book time off from work for such a job, no questions asked :thumb:....question is who else would love the opportunity?
Yah, he has detailed AF1 before, along with many other guys. I can't seem to find the original article I read it in but here is a post that Superior Shine did on MOL a few days ago with Renny and a group of guys on an older AF1, pretty cool stuff, that's for sure. I surely wouldn't want to polish an airplane by hand .... edit-here are some more pics of Renny's aircraft detailing crew http://detailmagic.shutterfly.com/8
I'm doing a 42' Class A motorcoach this weekend. Its BIGGER than a Cessna! I'll wait 'til your here before I start. If you want to do a plane, let me know. I can probably line one up.
