Okay folks, the looks results really are down to what people who were there on the day and saw the cars in the flesh thought as you cannot really capture any differences (arguably there weren't any!) in a picture... However, beading and sheeting you can so its here I would like people to vote and have their say on what they prefer!! Now, a note to those who attended the wax test, the beading and sheeting videos which follow are different to the ones you saw on the day, as a dirty microfibre towel used on a couple of the cars was traced to leaving smearing on the bonnet just before the water tests, which will have adversely affected the water test results (but not the looks results, as the cars were wiped down in prep for the water test). So I have redone all of the videos again after giving the bonnets a wipe down with deionised water and a clean microfibre towel, which cured the beading and sheeting nicely For fun, a fourth layer of each LSP was added before this water test as well. On viewing the videos and pictures below, please can you indicate which you prefer in order... try to avoid bias here please folks, have your say and judge fairly Zaino Z2 Raceglaze 55 Autoglym High Definition Wax ***** Royale Swissvax Best Of Show Collinite 915
Nice shots! The Raceglaze 55 looks to have the most consistent tight beading from the pics, with the 915 a close second. Will you be keeping track of durability Dave?
For a sec I was like..."why did he put marbles on the paint? Its got to be some trick of his..." My next response was this: :worship2::worship2:
After seeing the results and how people voted for these waxes, I appreciate my Collinite 915 even more. Shows that prep really is key to a great finish and that a 25 dollar wax will not look much different than a 7500 dollar one. Thank you Dave for posting the results and many nice pictures as well.
So here is a load question: What determines whether a tight bead is what is best? Is there a standard? I like perky beads vs. the large flat ones. Cheers, GREG
I don't think he was testing how they looked, he was testing the beading and sheeting. I'm sorry to say their is a difference b/t collinite and say a zymol. Is there a difference enough to pay the difference? I use collinite as my winter wax and the gloss and depth are less than say vintage, and I don't even own vintage. Cheers, GREG
I was commenting on this post and the other post that Dave did where people judge the looks and Collinite was ranked #2. I also don't understand your comment about Vintage unless you have seen it in person or have used it, how can you say it is better then Collinite? http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f38/wax-test-looks-results-4778.html
As far as sheeting goes I have to vote for Royale and for beading I vote for Raceglaze 55. That was a very impressive test. And although I agree with most that a perfectly prepped car will look quite good with just about any wax I maintain that if the car is not absolutely perfectly pristine that higher end waxes do look much much much better than cheaper ones. I don't get a ton of clients wanting to pay for flawless finishes and the higher end waxes I use look 10x better on the car than cheaper waxes. Case in point I just did a Roush Mustang for a client for the 2nd time. The first time I put Lusso Oro on it and it looked good. This time I put Rubbish Boys OE on it and it looked phenomenal!
im still lovin my (souveran)!!! doesnt last but a few weeks but man it looks great and so easy to apply!!!
I have used both collinite and Vintage. Vintage looks much better on a perfect prep car vs. any other wax I've used. Vintage allows dust and other natural fallout to just breeze off.
I dunno, honestly they all look nearly the same to me. The real test would be to see this again in say, 2 months.
