Hello everybody. My question may sounds obvious, but I am just starting. Which LSP is better? Sealant or wax? Which one lasts longer and which one brings better results?

Many of us use a sealant (1 or 2 coats) first, then top with a carnauba wax.

One of my favorite combos is 2 coats of JetSeal109, then top it with RBOE.

I've been experimenting with AJT and RBOE, though.

Sealant - Has good durability, and has some good looks...but some people may find it stale and does not look alive

Nuba - has that "live" look, more depth and glow that pure shine....durability is lower than that of sealants for the most part.

For looks, depends on what you are looking for, do you want pure shine and clarity or do you want that glow, depth and living like look...if the latter then you want a nuba.

Like lifemal said, many do sealant then nuba to get the durability of a sealant but the glow and looks of a nuba.

go for both as lifemal & agpates suggested .... sealant and top nuba for good look & durability ...
if you wanna the quick LSP, then go for sealant 1 coat ...

there are plenty of good sealants out there ... like CG jetseal, Duragloss #105, #111 or track claw ...

go with both, i dont think it can be one or other, you need to use both.

What makes you say that. If I'm in a sealant mood, I just use a sealant and if I'm in a nuba mood, I just use a nuba. I've used both in the past, but using both is certainly not a must.

For me, topping Jetseal 109 with a nice wax is the way forward.

What kind of durability do you guys get out of Jetseal?

both are good really. I like sealnts a lot more lately as Blackfire Wet Diamond and Werkstat AJT provide some great shine and durability.

Two coats of Gloss-It Gloss Finish (Sealant) topped with 1 of RBOE FTMFW, but if you really want to go to town, start with a layer of Danase Wet Glaze.

What color is the car? That always factors in to what I like to use.

Typically how it works is...sealant=durability, sharp reflection, high gloss, little or no depth. Carnaubas=mediocre durability at best (most being in the 4-8 week range ), low gloss, very nice depth, very wet looking.

No one likes a smart ass! LOL Actually, I've never tried 915. How do you like it? How does it compare to 476 and 845?

Harder to apply than 845 obviously, gives a warmer look. Tests have shown up to 6.5 months of beading on occasion, see that huge wax text on the RV, can't remember which site did it. I think it was detailing world.

Sealant for durability, carnauba wax for warm look. But remember - prep is the key. You can use the most expensivest wax - Zymol Solaris, and not get results you want if you don't prep the paint properly.

You are correct. It was Detailing World.

    I totally agree!

I would say put one of two coats of sealant then follow it up with a coat of wax. I would go with m-seal or jetseal then follow it up with Rubbish Boys Original Edition or Ezyme by CG

No matter which one you choose do not sit back admire how little you wax your car.

It needs some pampering and takes so little to sustain that just detailed look if you get it right and then maintain it. This is what detailing is about.

(sorta like what Linus told Charlie Brown in Charlie Brown's Detailing Christmas)
