Hey guys, Looking for some input on changing my current set up for going mobile. I have a 70 gallong tank which costs ~$10 to fill up but adding in the cost of fuel in a full size truck driving there and then to the location with an extra ~600 lbs in the bed isn't very effecient. It also is a huge space taker.. I was looking at the Griot's de-ironizer tank as it looks like a nicer/more effective overall system than the CR spotless. It has a shut off valve so you can keep it hooked up while not actually using it (I would mainly use torwards the end of the wash process depending on conditions) They claim about 175-1400 gallons per resin use depending on the TDS.(each resin pack is ~$100) and I am only a part time detailer so it won't see near as much use as someone full time. Water is known for being very hard/mineralized in my area and I just don't like the risk of getting water spots especially since I do not always get the chance to see the working space/environment I am going to be in before hand. Let me know everyone's thoughts as I have not seen to many people use a filtration system when going mobile nor any reviews on this particular Griot's product. thanks!
I'm not sure how the Griots is more effective. The 20" CR Spotless system holds more resin= more gallons of filtered water. You can get the DIC-20 system for about $10 more than the Griots.
Thanks for pointing that out, I guess I was just paying attention to the approx. output that CR claims ~300 and thought it was less than Griot's. The other pro's for me about the Griot's was the bypass valve which I think you could probably make one for the CR(or use quick disconnects) and the griot's bottle looks a lot more heavy duty. Pro's now for the CR DIC-20 is more resin and the electronic gauge. Hmmm...
If your going to get the the CR DIC-20 get it from Costco. They have it along with a extra refill and some other stuff for the same price as most of the websites. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=1&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1 If your looking for bulk DI resin for cheap check out Windows101. http://www.windows101.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=74_176&products_id=1465 When you get sick of spending the money on resin check out the DIY on how to recharge your own resin on Autopia. http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-de...4990-re-charging-your-crspotless-*resin*.html Having done this it's not as hard as you think it would be once you get the hand of it.
thanks for the info, Do you have much experience as to how many gallons your getting approx. per resin re-fill's?
