Well this stuff has been a pleasure to use! Buts its not very cost effective, but I think I need a gallon! Lol. One issue? My wash media does NOT rinse free... its as the dirt, dust and grime sticks to it... Why is this? And wont that dirt cause swirls? I have the worst paint possible. Night Hawk Black Honda... As for now I don't think I notice anything, but I will be on the lookout.

Can anyone tell me how to rinse my media free?

What are you using? How dirty is the vehicle when you wash?
I use a grout sponge, grit guard and 2 bucket method.

I have used both microfiber noodle mitt and a grout sponge, but neither seemed to be rinsing free. Even after rinsing in just water. Although the grout sponge was a bit more clean the noodle mitt was a more pleasant wash.

Use the noodle mitt, ONR formula works by lifting and absorbing the dirt and grime, so the wash media will get more dirty, faster. I say noodle mitt because that is naturally designed to also lift and absorb the dirt from the surface, whereas foam is more for safely agitating the dirt and then rinsing it off as with a regular car wash.

Grit Guard in your bucket is key to keeping the mitt clean but no matter what, it will just get dirty and stay that way until you wash it in the washing machine. If it's too black for you, then just switch to a new noddle mitt. During the winter, I depend on ONR washes, and it's not uncommon for me to have to switch to a new wash mitt half-way through the wash. That's why I always like to have 4+ noodle mitts on hand. Even washing just two cars over the week-end in the winter, I will use up 4 mitts before I throw all my stuff in the washing machine.

Alright, will do! Conveniently I have 2 mitts, but I was getting to the idea that it absorbs/emulsifies the dirt to the mitt. I was just trying a way to release it all and start fresh.

Water retention...the spring effect feeling that you feel when you glide the mitt over paint protect from marring..

The media retaining the contamination is the ONR doing it's job. I personally use super plush MF's (shag rags, to be precise). Once one gets soiled, I grab a new one. I go through 4-6 on a typical sedan (BMW 5 series).

they wash clean just fine afterwards.

I also add a few oz of Meg's last touch to the ONR bucket.

I know your post is about wash media, but you mention that ONR is "not" cost effective...how so? It's like $0.30 a wash if you use the recommended quantity and buy a gallon... Only about $0.50 if you buy the 32oz size. Also, you can use it as a QD, Clay Lube, and a Water Softener so its multi-functional. I'm not trying to flame you, just wondering if ou are using too much or putting it in both buckets or something.

BTW washing your media with an APC will get them clean, it takes a strong cleaner to break up the encapsulated debris and release it from the fabric/material

Yes, I was looking for an answer on how to release the grime in the wash stage. As my APC and MF Cleaner do a great job afterwards.

What I meant with using it as a wash being quite expensive. 1oz per gallon (or am I using too much?) is 8 washes for me using the 32oz. I guess I am just used to using 1-3 oz at max that it just feels different as well as being more expensive. $19 Ultra Gloss vs $49 ONR. But! I dont think I can compare them as ONR is much more than a wash, but ex. using for clay was a great experience, but slickness feels lacking, and as a QD its alright, but not the best. Overall, I think its a Jack of All Trades master of 1!!! And thats rinseless washing :)

You are definitely using too much. Dilution ratio is 1oz per 2 gallons of water. I also find that 2 gal is more than enough to do a car and wheels. You easily get 32 washes out of a 32oz bottle.

1oz per 2 gallons, like the bottle says.

I only ever use 2 gallons in my wash bucket to clean a car.

Wow.... Havent used QEW in quite some time. It was never the first generation ONR. In fact, I've heard of QEW way before ONR was even introduced. The only difference I noticed between the two was with QEW your wash media doesnt get as dirty as with ONR. Besides that they both work quite effectively. I've never noticed real discernible differences in lubricity between all the rinseless washes I've used.

Wow am I dumb. I have to read labels more carefully... Ohh well. I guess I will use 1.5-2oz next time :)

I've never had diluted ONR separate.

It does not separate when diluted, but it will lose its blue color over time.

But it will still work as normal? Even though it will lose its blue color?

Yep, even after it changes color will work the same. Only every used one bucket, 2 gallons, 2 capfuls (=1oz) for washing any car including an suv. Never had a problem.

does anyone have a small video clip using ONR?
Id never heard of it till I joined the forum a few days ago, and sounds like a brilliant wash solution. I clean a couple of cars on a fortnightly basis that are kept in an underbuilding carpark/garage. I hate flooding out the area during a traditional wash. My experience with waterless washes hasnt been great either. ONR looks like the stuff for me.
Im just really curious to see how its used properly.
    Cheers
