no need to. just rub a little of the polish you are going to use into the pad. just a little so the pad isnt dry.
It up to you lol. They are in wrapping so theres noting to be worried about. Just spray a mist of QD on the pad to condition it and use a little bit more of your polish than your supposed to jsut to break in the pad when you first use it.
When attaching the backing plate onto 7424xp, do i need to put on the washer too? i'm just screwing it on without using the wrench. Do i need to use the wrench? screwing it on without washer using washer Thanks! Ready to play with it tomorrow.:applause2:
good god. that backing plate looks beefy! MY backing just flew off of my PCXP LOL so i need to get one of those new beefy LC backings. I would run the washer . . . . . i believe it is supplied for a reason but could be wrong.
I have a habit of washing all my pads/mf towels before I use them. But thats because I detail a black car and am a bit paranoid.
You need the wrench to hold the PC nut to tighten up the backing pad. I don't remember the washer in my kit but the backer pad came about a week later... Washer looks like it is to keep the backing plate from hitting the counter weight. No need to wash the pads to start but prep like already suggested for the first use.
On Adam's forums there was a video of Junkman showing how to setup and use PC. Probably worth watching - he's using Adam's products obvisouly, but the process itself stays the same. As far as I remember he did mention that washer must be used. Without it, you won't be able to tighten the backing pad to PC (no space left to slide it in). P.S. Got my PC from DD yesterday too. Phil must be real busy
