I've read quite a bit on both machines, and I still don't have a good idea of how much more powerful (e.g. pressure coming out of the nossel) the Vapor Chief is over the VX5000. Take a look at the video below, do you guys think the VX5000 can rival the output and flexibility of the Vapor Chief in the video? I just don't feel like spending $2,700 on a steamer, as $700 is a bit more palatable. YouTube - Vapor Chief Steam machine cleaning console and cupholder
2 Different beasts, the VX5000 would be a great starter steamer. Alot of professionals use it and I'd go for it as a starter vapor steamer. Mostly interiors/small sections. The vapor chief is much different in capacity and size. If you need strictly for both interior and exterior get the vapor chief. If its just interior duties then grab the VX5000.
What about for cleaning wood floors? Also, I'm thinking about using the VX5000 for engine bays and door jambs. Would it be a practical tool for those apps?
The VX5000 might not have the power(65psi) for rim and exterior cleaning. You can check out Daimer's KleenJet series
The VX5000 is great for interior... but is kind of underpowered for wheels and such... I've tired mine on everything I could...
What do you guys think aboiut the Vapor Clean 3000 Unilux? 315 F temp, and 75 PSI. Vapor Clean: Vapor Clean Unilux 3000 Steam Cleaner (Free Shipping!) [VCU3000] - Vapor Steamers - Equipment: Hard Floor
There really needs to be a really good sticky article on steam cleaners. Steamers are taking over the world!
