This brand new Passat was brought to me for an exterior detail as the owner was not happy with the way the dealership "prepped" his new car. The colour of this Passat made it extremely difficult to photograph the condition of the paint but after a close inspection with LED lighting I found lots of marring and random isolated deeper scratches. After discussing various options with the owner we decided to go with a single stage polish with Optimum Gloss coat for maximum protection. Process: Wheels and tires cleaned with OPC 3:1 Washed with Duragloss 902 and a Meguiars Microfiber Mitt Clayed with a Nanoskin fine grade wash mitt Iron-x decontamination Dried via air Polished with Menzerna Powefinish and orange pad Wiped down with CarPro Eraser Coated with Optimum Gloss coat Tires dressed with Optimum Tire shine Condition the vehicle arrived in Plates are always removed to clean underneath Starting with the wheels & tires Standard two bucket wash Iron-x to remove any iron particles from transport Claying Air dried to reduce the possibility of marring Remaining water is gently absorbed with a clean microfiber towel Polishing the paint Defects removed Looking good Polishing the notoriously soft black pillars Removing the grease the dealer put on the tires Wiping down the paint to remove polishing oils for a clean surface Time to apply the coating After 10 hours, the results Thanks for looking!
