    Lo pressure under the hood:

    Used airpressure after rinsing:

Used Scholl crack9000 as degreaser. Used a protection mask to avoid the annoying cough:

    Wheel wells getting some treatment:

Used crack9000 here, since they were really dirty:

Used the rest of the soap in the cannon:

Used a brush(all of the soap on the wall is just lazyness from my side, since I did not bother to turn the mats):

    Dirty mats:

    A little out of focus:

    SV brush:

Back in focus.. The car was also washed by hand now:

Used airpressure on some hard to take areas:

    Insepection:

Time for some interior detail.. Emptyed all compartements, ashtray and collected everthing in a plastic bag that I left in the trunk:

    What can you say?

    "Yayks!!":

    Lol:

Also found a couple of glasses:

Put'em in the bag with the rest since they dit not fit me:

Started out with som airpressure cleaning, but because of of dangerous debrees I changed to a vacumer:

    LOOOL:

Used CG Green Clean dilluted 1:10 and dried of with Nanolotus MF and clean water. Here with a little friend for tight areas:

    MG APC:

    Brushing:

APC combined with a brush cleanes up nicely:

    Combivac:

    Same here:

Fabric seats sprayed with CG GC 1:10. Used a SV brush prior to the carpet cleaner:

    Some improvement:

Plastic will be treated with Scholl purple9000 later on:

    Clean and nicely smelling trunk:

Will also have to take another round here:

Seat protection and disposable shoe cover used from now on:

    DAY 2
There was a couple of spots that needed some lacquer.
    Started with this one:

Used some small diamond sanders to remove the rust on the steel:

Motip siliconremover and some paper towel:

Tiny brush, primer(short dry time), brush-up lacquer, and paint cotton swab:

Primer applied with with tiny brush:

Then some paint on other areas:

    Front fender:

    Brush on:

Working the hard way.. no chair:

    Then some more:

    Primer dried, and paint applied:

Put on plenty of paint. Is going to be sanded tomorrow so doesn't matter:

Admiring all of the swirls:) :

Started with some motivating 50/50 polish:

After one round with Scholl S03+ on yellow scholl pad:

Did some paint measurements with a consistent numbers:

Results after another round, this time 2100rpm with a lot more pressure:

High gloss polishing just for the fun of it:

Still quite of RDS's left, but a much improved result.. Will have to see what I get time for in the end:

Display of the polish in use:

This paint is hard, but not as hard as on newer Mercedes models for those of you who's experienced that:

Back to the old-school Zenith method with som Menz PO85RD:

Tested out some 3M polish to(FCP+/green). Right fender up next:

    More 50/50:

This combo cuts very well, but leaves more holo's then Scholl does:

    That's it for today...
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    DAY 3
    Inspection of the paint filling:

Sanded down with the small 3M sander, but since the primer became visible I had to do another filling of paint:

Far from enough paint on this spots unfortunately.. Was thinking about 600-800 grit, some spatula, sanding and new paint here, but not for this detail now:

    Sanded down:

Polished with Flex, FCP+ and green pad. Rpm aprox 1500-1700rpm:

Lots of polish got stuck in the crevasses, but was easily removed with Scholl CF02:

Did another paint filling here, but I'm afraid it was not enough... Since I work daily with the owner I can do some work later on it.

A little fed up with painting I moved on to the roofline.. Looked like c##p:

The sander is only used to get the camera to focus:

FCP+, 2500rpm and medium-hard pressure. Finished on 2100rpm. Left lots of holo's but the cut i awesome:

    Over to something different:

The owner wanted to get rid of the decals on the trunk.. I don't mind, since it's so much better to do correction work on a clean trunk:

Warmed up the area with a hairdryer and used this plastic prying "knife" to get in behind the tape.. Have also used fishing line before with good results, but this is the fastest version for me.. Used 3M GPAC on the glue residue:

    Polished some on the lid:

    Same procedure as described above:

Some left, and it really bugs me out... But got to draw the line somewhere if I'm not going to be stuck here for two weeks:

Masked up as I went a long on this detail.. Worked out quite well:

Used the small Flex with a small pad around the tight areas:

    B pillar:

Used FCP+ on blue scholl pad here. I don't like the small green 3M pad. Since it's waffled it gives less cut then it's big brother wich is flat:

    Holo's:

Applied polish with my fingers on this tight areas:

Did speeds about 1100-1500 here on the tight areas. Had to apply some pressure to get in between with the backingplate:

Front/rear lights got FCP+ on blue:

Wanted to test out MG Ultimate compound on this paint so I did a round with that, and removed all of the masking tape:

Did the hood another round. This time with FCP and green pad:

    Done for this day...

    What left then? :
    - Nanolotus Pro on windows
    - Refilling of paint, sanding and polishing on this spots
    - A/C clean
    - CFP
    - Wax
    - Pneu
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    DAY 4

Started the day with som A/C cleaning and got around working about 10'ish:

    A/C cleaning:

Did one round of 3M UFSE on blue pad:

Used Menz top inspection and 3M control spray to get rid of the oils and polish residue:

I let the residue sit for about 3-4 minutes before I rinse it of with HP:

After drying the car I got around for some sun pics.. Not bad for a desember day in cold cold Norway:

    Sunset:

Then over to the finishing details.. Did one round of CFP and wax was applied. While the wax cured I got time for some SV Pneu Glossy for the tires and SV Autobahn on rims:

Some last minute tweeking under the hood:

    Did some Black wow to:

Not bad if you compare to what we stardet with:

    Wax of the day:

After waxing I applied Nanolotus Pro on the windows for extreme water sheeting, SV Seal Feed and Scholl Purple9000 on the interior.

Put a little sticker on the B pillar:) :

CG Bare Bones applied in the wheel wells:

Forgot to take pics from the paint filled areas so did some after sheeting pics.. Did not sand the area. Only polished with FCP+. Made a deal with the owner that I would get the car in a little later this winter to fill in some more. He was more then happy with this result, but I think I could get it much better with some more time..

    Insignis sheeting:

Then a couple of vids from the Insignis Sheeting:

Now that is what I call a 360* turnaround! That is some amazing work! How are you liking Insignis, cant wait to do a full wax job with it once I get back from CA! Do you use the SV terry towel to buff off the wax? If so how do you like it compared to MFs?

  17. Brynjar

    Brynjar Birth of a Detailer

I love Insignis.. Remains to see how long it lasts... It looks awesome and beads/sheets like crazy:)

No, I don't use the SV terry towel for anything else then a nice photo presentation.. I've tried to buff wax with it, but I think it sucks..
