There have been several times when I wished that I had performed a more thorough inspection on a vehicle before I quoted a price. I would find a hidden problem that would require more time and material to correct for which I wasn't being compensated for. No real biggie, since I am just a weekend warrior, but it does start to add up after awhile in lost income, time and frustration.

Since I have started using an inspection form when I give an estimate, I feel that I am more professional in my appearance while making it easier for me to identify areas in need of special attention, and posibly upsell a service.

This is a modified version of a form that a friend of mine uses daily in his business. Please make changes to fit your own needs.

Sorry, but I am unable to attach the original Excel version. I would be happy to send the Excel version to anyone interested, just PM me your email address.

I hope this helps someone out.

Go to excel and open the document in there, then press Print Screen. Itll take a picture of what is visible on your screen. Then edit it in photoshop or something and you can post it. OR, email it to me and Ill post it up. dndautodetailing@gmail.com

I tried to attach the Excel version by simply using the manage attachments function. I probably am not doing it correctly. If you could walk me thru the correct way of inserting the Excel sheet, I would be happy to try it again.

I have no idea how to post excel sheets. The only way I know how to do it is the print screen method.

I believe it is based on that. My friend attended their training a few years back. He modified it, then I also tweaked it.

Hey you know what would be good too..I've seen this on another forum...I think it was Detailing World but not sure...they had a lay out of a car (3D lay out) where you could post your paint gauge readings on...any one know where I could get my hands on it?

    I like that one sneek.

If you're going to use the one the OP posted, then you might as well just copy and paste it. Looks no different in the excel file.

I have the AutoInt one on my dell somewhere...just too lazy to get her going.

(dropped it and the screen broke, but still runs). I have another one with the car panels exploded...i just need to find it.

No need to apologize... I should have started the thread differently by asking for suggestions on this topic. Like the way you're thinking here.

I always learn something new everyday. :reading:

    That will do it! :applause:

Thanks everyone for your input and help! :mounty:
