Hi guys I was looking on craigslist to try and find a a high speed buffer to start getting so practice using one I came across an add with a Vector 7" Buffer for sale for $65. I wanted to know are they any good and would and be worth the money or should I wait and buy another brand such as the makita or metabo. I searched online and found that a new one cost about $85. Thanks for the help, I also attached a link to the sale page. Vector 7" Sander/Polisher
Stick that $65 in a sock and keep saving, your gonna wanna get a Makita 9227c Keep doing searches and check the Pawn Shops :chips:
From What I heard the vector was a decent in expensive brand. You can buy them at pepboys so if you don't like it you can take it back as that is a bout the normal price of it anyway. But if your planning on using this for more than your cars I would say save your money and just get a makita and be done with it
We have two vector buffers at our semi bodyshop. They get used 5-8 hours every day. We've had them for a few years without any real problems. Only problem is the cord pulling out but that's b/c sometimes when they're working on scaffolding buffing the sides/tops of semis they lower the buffer to the ground by the cord. No complaints here.
I would hold off on this one. You never know how beat is really is and I would buy the Makita before the Matabo so you have a work horse. I agree with what rwisejr said. Thats the way to go and You will be much happier...:thumb:
