for those of you that have tried both adams undercarriage spray and CG barebones, which did you like more? I know that the formulations are very similar, but I was wondering if anyone has noticed a difference or has a preference.

and i currently am using barebones. im just kinda interested in the adam's products because i have liked everything that i have tried from them and to be honest, i love the spray heads on their bottles. :D

    thanks

I like Adams IUC. Smells great. Cant comment on Hyperdressing. Never used it for wheel wells.

I have used both. Adam's has a fairly strong grape smell (purple color) and CG Bare Bones is a lighter blue with with a milder smell. If you garage cars, the smell will persist for several days. I do not mind the Adam's smell since you know you used it. They both are very oily feeling.

I really cannot say I noticed any significant difference between the two products but did not do a side by side I like should have. As dressings go, you can use a lot if you just spray liberally without using an applicator.

not to thread jack. but what kind of method of application are you guys using for these products? is it necessary to clean the wheel well first?

Yes. I personally use either Meg's Super Degreaser of CG Grime Reaper to clean the wells first. Then wait until they are dry before applying the dressing.

i have used adam for years now and like it better than the c g barebones although i now have a bunch of it to run through. it seems that the adams is thicker and coats a little bit better. the smell is what everyone notices. not so much smell from barebones. yes it is necessary to clean the wheel wells although i use to drive to car shows and still just spray the wells.

Ok, to definitely hijack the thread :) What benefit do these products give you? A while back someone on another forum mentioned that they just leave an oily film so I haven't tried them.

    TIA,

The oily film leaves the surface darker enhancing their appearance. If you just spray without wiping, it will definitely have an oily look compared to spreading with an applicator. It is oily because it is more durable than a water based dressing.

I have found that it prevents dirt from sticking to the wheel wells in addition to making them disappear.

If you apply without wiping it is shiney initially, but after a few hours i have found that the shininess goes away and what is left is a satin/matte finish

i use bare bones and love it , i have a tahoe and a avalanche with both have these large heavy plastic fender liners. i spray with opt apc at 3.1 let dwell a few minutes and brush and rinse. spray bare bones and let sit for atleast 1 hour. it dries kind of slick but not oily and seems to repel dirt and dust. i usually apply it and can just rinse my wheel wells out for the next few washes. my only issues is that it seems like you use so much when applying

i plan to order adams here soon
