    Hey guys,

How many of you use a mask when using Ultrafina SE or similar 3M products. I was thinking about using UF sunday but decided against it because of the warning on the label. Turns out she wouldnt let me polish the car anyways (or clay).

    Thanks,
    Heath:shead:

I always tape off the areas that might come in contact with the polishing pad when using any polish. I also wash the car after doing heavy compounding, where UF is always my last step after compounding.

UF should always be worked with a film of the polish on the surface, so it is possible that you can get some of this oily film to sling onto some nearby trim. But I have never noticed excessive amounts of this before washing.

    gmblack,
Thanks for the reply. My question was concerning the warning label about Harmful Vapor and possibly inhaling some of this stuff. Do you wear a face mask when using Ultrafina. Sorry for the confusion man. Thanks agian for the reply.

Here is the link for the MSDS from 3M.

I do not wear a mask when using it. If you are going to wear one, you would wear a respirator, not just a dust mask.

I get zero to very little dust when using UF.
