    Hi guys

Sorry about the subpar picture quality but my phone was all I had at the moment.

My friend bought a 05 rx8 with about 60k miles and the previous owner touched up this long scratch with touch up paint in a ugly fashion. I would say its about its about 0.2 cm in height all around.

What is the best method for me to tackle this? I don't have a paint gauge.

    Thanks

dont think you can easily make that look nicer without a respray

i think if you take your time with it you can wet sand it to bring the level of the touch up paint down so it's even with the rest of the paint and then polish it up to a nice gloss and it should look pretty good.

your probably out of luck, mazda touch up paint sucks and may come off during the wetsanding process

    Thanks for the responses.

What if I taped up that area, wet sanded the touch up parts, and if it does come off, could I perhaps wet sand the original scratch (assuming the whole touch up comes off) or perhaps fill it in with a better touch up paint?

the last time i wet sanded my mazda, the touch up paint wasnt thick enough to level with the clearcoat which kinda sucked so there be an indent where i touched up even after polishing it.
