Got my pads today from you guys and they work great. I'm loving the results. The best part is you guys ship to Maryland in a day.
+1 on that, unless you damage them or your 2 year old feeds one to your dog **ahem, they last forever, and the only reason why I buy so many is its so much easier during a polishing job to have a few fresh pads handy
So for cleaning them, should I just clean them right after use with degreaser? I want to get one of those pad cleaners but they're ridiculously expensive.
here is what I do, everyone may do it differently. When im polishing I have a bucket with APC, a little dish soap and water.......... I toss the pads in there as I work to soak, when Im done usually most if not all the majority of the polish is leached off, so i then run under warm water and get the rest and may spray some 4:1 APC on the pad as i wash. Pad washers are expensive as noted, and this is very inexpensive and effective.
I got to use the Uber green pad last weekend. It did not seem to have as much cut as a LC white pad but need to use it more.
Alex, The Pad washer from Lake Country is what I have, and it works great if you have a rotary to spin the pad to clean and then to spin it to help dry it. The machines use a packet of snappy clean a session, and the product does not stay good for long periods of time; you cant just leave it in there for a long time and expect it to still work good. What you WILL notice is how much polish, etc., it removes from the pads when you dump the water out of it and clean out all the polishing residues that are still in the bottom of the bucket. It DOES work, it WILL shred the L/C Hydro-Shred pads, it will not shred any other pads, Its fast, all the water is contained inside the bucket, and lastly it's expensive. Presoaking pads as stated earlier is very helpful, meguiars super degreaser is by far the best cleaner I have ever found to clean the pads in the sink, but you have to watch how strong you make it or it will remove the glue from the microfiber backing on the pad, rendering the pad useless for buffing tools, but still good for use by hand.
