Trying new pads

Just ordered a few of SM Arnold pads. Just turned on to them and going to give them a spin!

 

If you haven't tried 3M UK, Andy, I started using them about a year ago and I will never turn back. They are worth every penny IMHO :shrug:

Which ones did you get? Are they the ones that have the "ventilation" holes/slots cut in them?

They are listed as the PPM right? My local autobody shop can get them if they are the same ones, price was ok I thought, but didn't know what PPM number ment in relation to white, green, black, gold, yellow, orange..

Pads are rated in PPI. ( pores per inch.) The higher the number, the softer the pad and less cutting ability. The gold LC pads and red GI pads are 100ppi and are for applying selants and waxes as they have 0 correction ability. The lower the number, the coarser the pad and greater cutting ability.:thumb:

Are those 6.5" pads?

 

I purchased some 8" and 6" as well as 4 and 3" Ordered a variety of thicknesses - 1.25 and 1.75'.

 

Almost forgot how nice the bigger pads are. For those of you who can stomach an 8" pad, these are WAY forgiving. Using these is essentially a no-brainer...that's really good for me!!! They finish off really nice!!!

 

They are great pads, have been using them for over eight years the previous gen and the current four inch thick finish pads(80ppi).

 

Bob's endorsement is enough for me to realize this was a good choice on my part!!!
