Hey guys, well my fight to find a good trim protectant marches on...the latest that i have tried is the Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer, which i love the look of, but was apalled at seeing half of it down the side of my truck after a good rain...and i was over at another forum and read something interesting, figured i would run it by the gurus at DB! People are talking of actually waxing textured plastic trim with a trim friendly wax, one that doesnt dry up powdery and white...has anyone ever had experience with this? I just dont want my trim fading but i cannot stand a product that runs after it rains because it rains here quite often! The trim in question is off a 2006 Ford F150
Best one I've used is Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus. It is a sealant, so it has months of durability, it won't stain, dust, or wash off.
Ugh, Ford trim. Have you used tried CG VRP or Black Wow? The latter restored the cowl trim on my 00 Mustang GT. Before that I'd tried KAIO and some OTC stuff. I recently picked up some CG Fade to Black and a full 16oz. VRP.
I have a Ford Explorer (black with dark gray trim) with the famous ford fade and I've tried a few things but the best thing thus far has been the Ultima Tire and Trim Guard. I've applied three coats in a weekend and that was over two months ago and it still looks really good. I've yet to try Black Wow or CG Trim Gel (I have sample of this though...). In all honesty prior to the Ultima stuff the product that gave me the best results was TW Ice liquid polish, seriously.
Does Black Wow have any protective qualities? I used it a few times....It is still nice and black but i am more focused on protecting so it wont fade, rather than restoring....?
If you've treated your trim with Black Wow and are now wanting to top it (ie a protective barrier) then I would check out Optimum Opti-Bond or AL53 recommends a Duragloss product that(201 I think)he uses in a similar fashion.
My advice is to actually try polishing them Glare's line of products work magic on the majority of unpainted non UV stable urethane trims I use that and another system that is not available at the moment (australian) and the results are permanent On textureds, try Werkstatt Acrylic Jett trigger
