Got my V36 optical cut yesterday but haven't had a chance to try it yet. So I saw my neighbor washing his black A5 this afternoon so I went out and asked if I can try something. I did a quick clay and taped up a small rear panel for a 50/50 so I can show him what I can do with my PC7424xp.

Primed the pad and added a small drop and it realy does have a long work time, almost forever and no dust. It seems like the secret for the long work time is in the oils becase after wiping it off and giving the car a water rinse, the area that I polished was repelling water as if I waxed it.

It finishes down really well with just a green pad. I don't have the V38 final polish so can't comment on that.

Here's a close up shot of the gritty stuff in the polish.

And the black light has a very smooth texture finish and smells like grapes.

The v7 smells nice citrus orange and the honeydew snow foam indeed smells like honeydew.

Picked up the Chemical Guys V36 Optical Grade Cutting Polish for $22.94 on sale
and the Chemical Guys HoneyDew Snow Foam Auto Wash for $11.89 the gallon size is $39.99. Picked up 1 Plush Microfiber Towel on BOGO because didn't know if it's good or not but it is very nice and soft.

I probably will do a test with M105 VS v36 when I get a chance.

It does seem like CG is spending a few more pennies on labeling and started using different marketing names. I wonder why their product line looks like nothing was planned. The naming is just like pulling something out of the air.

    Let us know the results.

Probably to sound more like Menzerna's confused line.

Personally I like most of their product names.

    Thanks for the review.

The names are not too bad but the numbers are bizarre.

Those plush towels look like the ones from CG which I find are nice. If they are, at BOGO price that's actually a really nice deal. They're not the plushest but I never liked ultra plush ones anyways, linting issues.

I have both of the new polishes from chemical guys. I used the final finnish with green hexlogic pad on my car since it have very minor swirls and it worked awesome!!! Cleared up light swirls and left the paint really glossy and after doing the whole car there was littarly no dusting. I have yet to try the cutting polish (v36) but overal I am really happy with the results so far

I'm interested to hear how it compares to M105.

CG's problem with their products and such is that they have SO many products that do the same thing, or almost the same. For example, they have two fabric cleaners that have the same uses (according to their site) but different names.

Their products are really good, but WAY to much detective work is needed to figure out which product you need.

I have used V36 and V38 and i like them, I used them in conjunction with CG MF pads but on a recent detail i used the V36 on an Orange Hex pad and got some great results.....

I tried the V36 today. Had to polish the rear fender/hip area of my black Porsche. I've been a Menzerna fan for a looooong time, though I suppose like other Menz users the dusting is annoying so I was interested in seeing if this might be a useful alternative to 203S et al. I used a 3M UK polishing pad and my Flex PE-14-2-150 rotary. Applied 4 pea sized dots to the pad and made a pass. Was surprised to get some dusting. First pass didn't do much. Because of the dusting, I put a bit more polish on the pad then worked the area again. This cut down on the dusting quite a bit. The second pass also showed the working time for this polish--loooooong! I got a little pad hop (my guess is this polish is a bit pad sensitive?) After working the area for what seemed forever, I wiped off the residue. It looked nice, then I gave it the "every angle" once over and noticed holograms in the curvy area where the roof line slopes toward the tail light. Arrrrgggh! Also the look, though nice, didn't seem to have that Menzeran pop. So, I took a clean 3M UK polishing pad and did an adjacent area with 203S. Perfection! I then used a finishing pad and some Menz RE 5 before applying some LSP. I feel that the pre LSP look after the Menz was crisper and clearer than the V36.

In conclusion, I think this is a decent polish, but it's not a challenger to Menz IMHO. However, as noted, it may be due to my pad choice. Maybe it likes the CG Hex pads or their MF pads better and is optimized for those pads? Also, it's not in the category of SIP, IP or even 203S. Maybe closer to 106FA in cut?

I'm going to give it another go with some LC and Uber pads and see if they make any difference.
